Aw, lovely! He does seem a nice guy, and he's not too hard on the eyes either .
Truth!
I was a tiny bit shocked to find out he's a year younger than me!!! Damn it.

That sounds like it was a lovely experience!!

That sounds great. I'm a bit jealous.
Especially that you saw Gillian Anderson. I'm rewatching The X-Files at the moment and saw her in The Fall recently. Love it.

And Gillian seems to be great fun at conventions from what I've seen on tumblr.
Did she wear one of her hilarious t-shirts?
Edit: She did wear a t-shirt, that's for sure.

If she also is "too expensive" for a convention in Germany?

She probably is.

I was obsessed with the X-Files for years. And David Duchovny was my first internet boyfriend. *giggle*
Gillian was lovely. Very gracious.
Side Note: I am a little spoiled. Because of my bad leg I cannot stand in the long lines for the most popular panels. People can start lining up hours before hand. I qualify for a disabled sticker which allows me to sit down rather than stand in line and they also allow us to be seated in the room first. This way I get excellent seats. Trust me, it's the only time I'm grateful that my leg is messed up!

I'm sorry about your leg, Tonnaree. It must be a real nuisance all the rest of the time, but I'm glad that you do get some benefit - quite rightly!

Is this not one of the most fabulous things you have ever seen!

Brilliant. Thank you for the link. Never thought that anybody still knows "Labyrinth". I love that film.

"Labyrinth" is very popular among geeks and since Bowie passed a lot of people have been very nostalgic for it.

Beautiful cosplays! and I NEED that dress in my life!
Sorry about your leg, but good that you take 'advantage' of it at such events!!

Labyrinth was great (showing my age!)! And that is some excellent cosplay. The 80s was a great time for fantasy films and I loved them, even ones that aren't so well thought of like Legend and Krull - they would be great for cosplay but only a few old fogeys would get it!

If anyone is interested in a few facts about Dragon Con:
Dragon Con (previously Dragon*Con and sometimes DragonCon) is a North America multigenre convention, founded in 1987, which takes place once each year in Atlanta, Georgia. As of 2016[update], the convention draws attendance of over 77,000,[1] features hundreds of guests, encompasses five hotels in the Peachtree Center neighborhood of downtown Atlanta near Centennial Olympic Park, and runs thousands of hours of programming for fans of science fiction, fantasy, comic books, and other elements of fan culture. It is operated by a private for-profit corporation, with the help of a 1,500-member volunteer staff.
Yes, it's huge!!! And there is stuff going on pretty much all day and all night. Sometimes it's hard to pick what you want to do most! Luckily the schedule comes out about a week before the convention. I always sit down with it and pick the 1 or 2 things each day that I HAVE to do. and set myself up a list so I won't miss them. The convention even has it's own phone app to help you plan your schedule and find your way around!

On Friday night there was a Pin-Ups by the Pool party sponsored by the Burlesque troop. People were encouraged to come in Pin-Up worthy attire and they had a contest to pick the best. This is my friend Sketch doing his Sheeted Sherlock. He is one of the burlesque performers so he wasn't eligible to win the Pin-Up prize, but he won my heart long ago..............

I apologize for the blurry pictures. Some were taken with my phone and sometimes my hands were not very steady. Between excitement, exhaustion and the occasional adult beverage, I was pretty unsteady most of the weekend. *giggle*
