I like tonnaree's try. Still, it remains a try...
Wrong thread for platonic explanations, Susi...

Just stumbled over 7-percent-solution's tumblr and he wrote how in the new promo pic John's left hand is conveniently not shown. The ring is gone? And we're not to know yet?

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

Had so much fun at Dragon Con but sadly, the Sherlock panel was the most disappointing thing all week.

There were four people leading the discussion panel and they were deathly dull!  No energy!

They mainly discussed TAB but no one had anything to say that we haven't said here a couple of dozen times.  I was really hoping for more S4 speculation.  They said they wanted to avoid spoilers but it's actually not hard to speculate without spoilers.

And finally, the panel responded very negatively when I said that I would like to see Mary go out a villain.  A couple of them were very condescending and waved away my opinion.  They basically repeated the opinion that the only people who want Mary to be a villain are the ones who think she's interfering with Johnlock!
I was very upset and pissed off.  That argument makes me so damn angry and I don't think you have to ask me why.  I didn't even mention johnlock in my comments!!

Anyway;  I had really been looking forward to the panel since there is so much to talk about in the fandom right now and it was a huge let down.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

Sorry to hear that, tonnaree. I just read something on tumblr which is quite true. The people who have interpreted the show most thoroughly, are Johnlockers/TJLCers. No one else knows so much about the smallest nuances and details and the majority is still on a Sherlock is a sociopath/long-suffering John/marriage and baby level. I am quite sure they will be in for a big surprise or even shock because this has never been what the show is about. Many people, however, even fans do not look very deeply. But we are meant to which is proven by the fact that the writers go back again and again to past episodes and use situations/dialogue which have been there before. Like "I did not work for me" or "How would you know?" You can only see the true beauty of the show if you look at it like that.

And now for something nicer I hope, from atikiology on tumblr:

i love that janine’s revenge was to lie about her and sherlock’s sex life to the tabloids. like.  that’s the most offensive lie she could come up with after the weeks/months she spent with sherlock. literally the most ridiculous and out-of-character allegation she could find was “sherlock holmes is a straight man who likes to have sex with attractive women”

True, isn't it? She could have gone for him being violent or perverted or something about him being bad at his job. But no, she decided to turn him into a straight sex god to get her revenge. Which is quite telling.

LOL. I love that. There's so many little things like this in the show that you simply can't, you can't interpret any other way.

Unfortunately, Mary (and John) have this "saintly" status inside the fandom. People are delighted how wonderfully "grey" characters they are, but once you want to discuss the black part of that "grey", it´s treated like blasphemy.

And if you by chance love Sherlock more than Mary and think that her murder attempt at his life makes her a villain, of course it makes you Johnlocker by default. Duh...
