You mean why he calls John? Well, John was the only person who could hear him.

• Why did John’s girlfriend say that John is 'a great boyfriend and Sherlock Holmes is a very lucky man’ and that she didn’t want to 'compete with Sherlock Holmes’?
It's sarcasm, for goodness sake!

I'm pretty sure ASIB is a Steven Moffat episode. It's his sort of thing, and also I'm sure he said it was his favourite.

Well, Besley, if the makers wanted to be realistic they could wait for December to make the outdoor shoots, or just defoliate the landscapes with Photoshop. <- that's me being ironic.

Well they said, they whited out as much as the BBC budget could afford...when you're doing air shots...that's a lot of ground to cover!

Great. We can finally stop discussing most aspects of the show. It's FICTION, so no need to talk about plausible character developement, relationships and mind palace scenes any longer.

That will save us a lot of time. We could use this time for brushing up our etiquettes in technology...

Okay, another take:

I get a feeling Mark Gatiss (who wrote this episode) didn't really think it through what it actually means to count that many messages.

Because it shows John AS IF he was a bit too interested, maybe even jealous. Maybe he would like to get so much attention from Irene - or if he didn't figured out who it was - that it's Sherlock who gets those sexy moans?
Or it's The Subtext.
And it's funny as hell.

I was merely showing examples for the show to have humorous but not-so-realistic/serious elements. There is a lot of them (I forgot to add the body parts in the fridge and the eye in the teecup). "57 moans" most probably belong to the category, so there is no need to overthink their meaning.

Can anybody enlighten me about 57 varieties of beans?

You know that there are people who assume Appledore must have been in south Europe, or even in some warm and exotic place because of all that greenery that surrounded it?

Your examples were good. The language of your post felt wrong to me. I've already tried to talk about that matter via pm but you decided to ignore it.

Btw, you often leave out the name of the person you quote. That makes it a bit hard to follow your thoughts.

I am sorry for becoming sarcastic but I really minded how you answered Vhanja's serious question. Vhanja who has a completely different opinion on the whole Johnlock thing than me, btw. This is what I demanded a few posts back, everybody speaking up in cases like that, not just those who share your opinion. Maybe we can do that more often from now on. :-)

No, I didn't. I don't mind that they don't follow reality and I separate between real life an TV reality.

That's why I didn't mind when two seconds of wincing is all the after-effect Sherlock experiences from his Serbian trauma. It's TV, with very limited time. They have to cut corners.

That is also why I don't think the series was meant to be analysed too deeply either.
