Over at the debate, they have proved that Sherlock is not gay, btw. Guess we can close that thread then, all is said.

Well, what can I say? In "Torchwood" Ianto Jones wasn't gay, either. And he still fell in love with Captain Jack.
It's the man, not the sexual orientation.

My honest opinion. I still believe in Johnlock and I think we will see something on the show that will satisfy us.

However, I think that what ever we see will be very very subtle. Something that, no matter how obvious to some of us, will still leave enough ambiguity so that anyone who needs to can still deny that John and Sherlock are anything more than friends. And I can be ok with this.

The only thing that would really drive me mad would be for them to give Sherlock some sort of half-assed female love interest in an effort to take all ambiguity away. They may not want to put Sherlock in a relationship with John, but I will argue to the death that he is not interested in a relationship with anyone else.

I am still sure that we will get to see something that is clear enough for everyone to understand that they are together. Not explicit sex, they never did that on the show, but something that leaves no doubt about the state of their relationship. They have been working towards Sherlock's personal development for six years - his addiction, his family background, his weaknesses, his fears, his "very limited sex life". This is not an episodic show, it has long narrative arcs. I see no reason why they should make an exception where his romantic/sexual life is concerned.

And this is why I simply cannot see them returning to the pre-Reichenbach friendship. That ship has sailed. This is over. There can be no way back to serial-dating John and celibate Sherlock. They are not going in circles in this show.

There are only so many ways they could end this:
- John married, not living with Sherlock
- John unmarried, not living with Sherlock
- John unmarried, living with Sherlock, serial-dating to satisfy his sexual needs
- John unmarried, living with Sherlock as a couple

We should remember that Jeanette is John's last girlfriend before the fall. He cannot tell his girlfriends apart, he is not interested in them because Sherlock always comes first. After that we do not see him with a woman again until Mary. This is not interpretation, this is the show. Other than Canon Watson our John Watson only marries when he is feeling heartbroken and alone. And one might argue that he only marries because he is terrified of being hurt so badly again.

And this is why I believe that nothing else short of a fully developed relationship between those two makes sense.

John can't even recognise his wife in TAB until Sherlock points her out.Disastrous for John indeed.
I really struggle to see what would be left if they removed all the queer from Sherlock and added no homo to every single gay reference.A Sherlock Holmes that sacrifices his life twice so John can be happy and hetero . A dieing Sherlock Holmes coming back to life for John and then telling John you are attracted to dangerous people but no homo ! And then the idiot Holmes that despite Angelo using the word date and romantic in context just days later Holmes has no clue what the word really means !
What kind of conversation was held with DL and the production bosses in the beginning that made him have Dr Watson write he might be gay on his blog in some of the very first comments. Actually the first question asked by Bill Murray is have you gone gay mate . Where are the jokes there.
Sorry to rant but gosh ! Everything outside the show is as complete odds with whats in it.

I worry what will be left of the fandom if everyone Johnlock and every Johnlock page left.

I completely agree with you, Moth and Susi. What kind if relationship developement would be left without Johnlock?

And what a dull place fandom would be without some Johnlock glitter? ;-)

Even if they saddler Sherlock with hordes of female love-interest, Johnlock is immortal!
