It would be kind of nice if some of them actually got "brought to justice" instead of being bumped off! But I suppose the point with Moriarty and Magnussen in particular was that they were untouchable by "justice".

Have you seen all the goodbye tweets from the Sherlock crew? They all seem very emotional, as if it is the final farewell. Hope it is only me, but everything seems very final.

I hope not!

Me too...though Gatiss said there will be a 6th season maybe in SDCC, but I am just having a bad feeling.

I hope Mark meant it!

I think the gist of their comments on the subject is that they're planning on a fifth. There's always the possibility that it won't happen due to co-ordinating diaries, etc., but Steven Moffat would be "surprised" if it didn't go ahead. Hopefully the emotion is just marking months of working closely together, with no date for filming for S5.

If I am not mistaken Louise wrote "Auf Wiedersehen". This is a German phrase meaning goodbye and see you again. So I think they were emotional because it seems to have been a groundbreaking series, not necessarily because it was the last one. And we know that Steven and Mark planned 4 and 5 a long time ago.

That was my understanding.

Really creepy and chilling stuff about Toby as a villain in that interview Liberty. Thanks for posting it. Also interesting comments from B.C. on Moriarty - I think Moriarty got inside Sherlocks head because he is sort of a bad Sherlock and Sherlock sees what he himself could have become.
TRF recalls have made me wonder if somehow all the villains will be linked with Moriartys legacy and maybe even Mycroft. I had a thought that Mrs H called Mycroft a reptile because he had done something to Sherlock like commit him in a hospital with Culverton as his Dr. Wish I had never thought that now.
I really hope we get 5 and 6 and more ! I think I read somewhere they said they wanted to go on for decades even if it just meant popping back with specials now and then. But am hazy on it
Assuming S04 is as successful as tab and the others they would be mad to stop .

Yes I really hope they wouldn't stop, unless they absolutely have to.

wow...found this on wikipedia, and now I am really hopeful. Though only time can tell the future.Series 5=small[edit]Moffat confirmed in January 2014 that Sherlock will return for a fifth series,[100] with Cumberbatch confirming he was signed for a fifth series.[101]

But but but... they talk about CAM in the past tense and about Moriarty in the present tense:
He’s Irish, and he brings all his charm, his twinkle and his humor to it while he’s also terrifying. Magnussen was a very blank, chilling business man.
Was is an indication they think of Jim as alive? Was it a bluff? A double bluff?? LOL

I don't care what it was...as long as we get more Andrew!

Ooo, interesting!

It could be because Moriarty is still in it (he's in the trailer - it's no secret) and Magnussen (probably) isn't.

Good point.

Good catch with the present and past tense!
Also about all the goodbye tweets... I really try to keep positive, I myself caught the 'Auf Wiedersehen' and really I'm grasping at straws probably, but I'm sticking to "See you again"... also, if the crew don't know when they will return again... who knows, it could be years again... and if what they've filmed has been emotional well... the tweets would be too
And that's me trying to be positive... I'm way too addicted to this show for it to end, not not anyway...

I missed all of the tweets and am kind of glad I did!
Sorry, a bit of a curved ball here: so Louis was in again?!

Thorough analysis of yesterday "plant" post. Very impressive detective work again!

Great stuff! It still seems to be difficult to be sure about both plants. I'm SO tempted to take a trip to Wilko's and look at their stock - or is that bordering on obsessive? I think they have trays outside with outdoor plants, which seems to be what the mixed grasses have come from. The other plant is not necessarily a Wilko one and looks more like an indoor pot plant. Perhaps bought separately, then, and maybe at different times, which would explain one dying and the other not (although it could be just due to one surviving lack of watering).
Both still have the labels in, so looks like they haven't actually been used on set (unless they're filming a scene in a Wilko's!). And I'm starting to feel now that it maybe isn't something so significant as poison coming from those plants, but more about set design. It could even be that they were spares which weren't used.
The only significant pot plant that springs to mind for me from the past is the one in Magnussen's office, but that's a completely different plant!
