"New Paradigm Studios is releasing their own take of the famous detective and partner Dr. John Watson in the upcoming series, Holmes and Watson, which will reimagine both characters as African-Americans. Written by Karl Bollers and illustrated by Rick Leonardi, the series notes that their intepretation of Holmes and Watson are unique as they are 'a rarity in today's comic marketplace- African American men who are smart, well spoken, old fashioned heroes.'
An eleven page preview of the comic shows Watson as a broad-shouldered doctor working in an emergency room, while Holmes is portrayed as in dreadlocks, fedora and a wardrobe not dissimilar to the one worn by Benedict Cumberbatch's character in the BBC series Sherlock."
