Lestrade ignored the absence of manners there: when John was not there, Sherlock would sulk and revert to his old rude self. Well, he was rude when John was here, but his being alone seemed to make him much ruder, and distant. What was it that he had said, once? Feelings are a distraction, or something along those lines?
