Re: Series 4 Setlock (potential spoilers)

The three words for series 3 were revealed in August 2012 when Mark, Steven and Sue were at the Edinburgh International Television Festival. The filming started in March 2013! That's why I'm wondering.

I've just read the summary of that story on wikipedia sounds interesting.

Re: Series 4 Setlock (potential spoilers)

Oh, thanks, I did not know that. Maybe they did not make it a rule. For series 2 they said they did "the big three: woman, hound, fall". As far as I know the words were not given in advance but I may be wrong.

What they gave us for series 4, though, was the word "consequences". And they recently mentioned "adventure, romance, and terror" but I am not sure if they count as the three words from the Canon stories.

Re: Series 4 Setlock (potential spoilers)

Maybe they want to avoid hysteria in the fandom there already is enough of that and it gets worse.

If they want to avoid hysteria they are not doing a good job. ;-)

But then, it might be an impossible task.

Re: Series 4 Setlock (potential spoilers)

The funny thing is that the fandom has proven they do not need the words at all. People deduced that TAB would take place in Sherlock's mind after the plane turned around and predicted months ago that they might do a take on the Dying Detective. I think by now we are so clever that we do not need the words anymore.

We're pretty damn smart.

Of course. Not that I do not want them. I want everything they are willing to give (and more).

Plus the fact that Watson is hiding behind Holmes's bed during the confrontation with villain.

I seriously hope that they'll not go down that route. John would stand once again in a very bad light, if he is shown as being uncaring and obvious for the suffering of his friend. We had that enough already. I would prefer a John Watson that is worried out of his mind for the safty of Sherlock.

Re: Series 4 Setlock (potential spoilers)

It could possibly be in character for Sherlock to give himself a real illness to make it more realistic.   In the story, he doesn't want Watson to get close to him in case Watson works out that he's faking ... in this case, he might try to keep John away in case John works out that he's not faking!   But that would explain why John isn't worried ... hopefully, there would be time for him to be worried afterwards (I agree, I'd like to see caring John).

Re: Series 4 Setlock (potential spoilers)

I would like to see John pretending to not know Sherlock is faking it.  The two of them working together to fake out the villain.

Re: Series 4 Setlock (potential spoilers)

Omgomg, this is awesome! I have to read that story!

Well, part of me wants to NOT read the story, as to not spoil anything. Then again, BBC Sherlock are only "loosely based" on anything, so I gather following Setlock is a bigger spoiler than reading The Dying Detective.
