@Solar: Yes, I do indeed. And since series 4 is about consequences, I have a hunch that her deeds will finally catch up with her.

And I have a hunch you're right.  I strongly suspect that Mary's past will most definitely catch up with her, and that the consequences will be fatal in her case, for her and the baby.

Re: Series 4 Setlock (potential spoilers)

And that's why it might just not happen.
I hope that very much not, but consequences could also bite maybe Mycroft or even Sherlock into the back side?
Though I hope that at least Sherlock won't be the one to suffer this time, he's endured enough IMHO.

Suffering's kind of his bag, though...

No, I do hope they don't go further on that depressing route...

Re: Series 4 Setlock (potential spoilers)

I honestly don't think there is going to be much joy for any of them.

Re: Series 4 Setlock (potential spoilers)

They all have already had their hardship, and there probably will be more.  But let's be honest, if everything were happy there wouldn't be much of a story or excitement.

Exactly. It will be devastating, and (shame on me) I will enjoy it immensely.

I personally could never enjoy the death of a child.
I don't generally enjoy the death of anyone.
I  have mixed feelings with the boys.
I know I will cry if I see them upset and I am certainly predicting  a devastated John.
I think Sherlock will be traumatised, too.
But the only comfort will be them being drawn together in sadness.

Same here. And the important aspect is where the road of devastation will eventually lead to...

I cannot live without brainwork. What else is there to live for? Stand at the window there. Was there ever such a dreary, dismal, unprofitable world? See how the yellow fog swirls down the street and drifts across the dun-coloured houses. What could be more hopelessly prosaic and material? What is the use of having powers, Doctor, when one has no field upon which to exert them?

Indeed.
Which is an honourable goal.
But I can take no pleasure in how it will be achieved.
