It is quite probable, IMO. I just checked the series 3 trailer. It used material from TEH only. The baby so far has only featured in episode 1 (according to setlock and casting calls), the same goes for confirmed scenes featuring John and Mary (the restaurant and the Borough market scenes). They may use those for the trailer, throw in some hint of crime and casual viewers will think they get the crime-solving trio plus baby and dog.

I just got to think of something (sorry if it's been discussed before, I haven't been able to follow the thread daily).
For what we've seen so far, both Sherlock, John and Mary have made clear changes in their style/looks. Sherlock got a beard, John got a different hair style and so does Mary (curls). I wonder why? Not that it has to be for a specific reason, people do that all the time. But in a series, the main characters often have a distinctive look that they rarely change - and now all three of them change at the same time?
