To beard or not to beard, that is the question.

But that´s the actual plot-point they want to make with this costume change, isn´t it? Sherlock is so out of it (dying or faking it) that he temporarily stops to care for his appearance. Hence everything on him looks "wrong" for a while...

Very interesting.
I don´t remember any Canon story taking place in Morocco. But among Basil Rathbone movies, there is one called "Pursuit to Algiers". Maybe the episode would be a refference to that?

have we officially confirmed that they are doing the dying detective/the devils foot?
what I mean is: it does not look like the Shezza stubble of not caring about your appearance, it looks like a hipster beard waiting to happen. I am always ok with everything that adds to the story in the end, but I still might not like the look. See John's moustache: looks awful, but makes a great plot point

Possible that the Morocco location is a stand-in for some other place?  I guess it could depend on whether or not they just need some sort of non-descript background landscape or whether they need genuine Moroccan scenery. My goodness, the plot certainly thickens!
PS. Whatever happened to the Canada rumor?

At this point I begin to think that Sherlock is playing his part too well if it's the dying detective plot. I do hope he isn't actually dying on us!

Re: Series 4 Setlock (potential spoilers)

@KP: No idea about Canada. But I have read that Morocco is often used as a stand-in for other places since filming there is less expensive.

I know it's mostly just a photo of Sherlock/Benedict, but we don't get many Setlock photos this close up.  Sorry if I missed it earlier in the topic.
