That could be cool, though at the same time it's kind of fun to have a character that you never see. They wouldn't be the first show to do that. Though I suppose it would depend on the situation.

Yes and I honesty thought that was what they would always do with Harry...
But then I doubt we'll ever get to see Uncle Rudi and maybe not ever 'the other one'!

Maybe this place is some sort of safe house. It's kind of non-descript and the government might not have spent money to update the décor, etc. Or maybe it's Mrs. Hudson's sister's house.
I would love Harry Watson to make an appearance. If she has cleaned up her act maybe she can take the baby to keep her out of harm's way while her parent's attempt to deal with Mary's dangerous past.

Personally I would like baby to be a little bit older, before being dumped by Mary...but seeing the dog footage, it looks like baby may be on the case, too.
I certainly think a safe house, or Harry's house are both possibilities.
However I woke this morning with 2 wild ideas(and I think certainly one of them is wild):
What if the baby/child we are seeing is not baby Watson but baby Mary and the 70s house her childhood home?
What if she's Mrs Hudson's daughter who was sent away?
Sorry, the last is off the wall...I can't help my brain!

Great setlock pics again .Thanks.
The ambulance intrigues me , did Sherlock also also arrive in it ? This would fit with a dying detective theme - maybe he has dashed from a supposed death bed to solve a drama with Mrs H. I wonder if Molly is around because she is helping him fake it again with the lab work .
I don't think the house belongs to one of the regulars with them having to knock at the door. Unless it's where Mary is living now.
I read there was a cast call for a chat show host and wonder if thats why John has the limo ? Could tie up with Toby J @ the theatre.
Still all quite exciting for me ,I feel like a kid again in the way I can't wait for Christmas, one of the bonuses of being a Sherlock fan . Assuming we do get S04 around then

I personally prefer starting a new year with Sherlock...
But I suppose I could accept it as a Xmas gift!

Nice idea but I think it does not work. The baby is in episode 1, the 70s house and no baby in episode 2. Although I still think that the trip with baby and dog looks quite surreal and might be a MP scene. Fact is we have no sighting of and casting calls for a baby or small child in episode 2 so far.

I do think both flashback/MP are distinct possibilities.
Also, one of the houses being the home of a villainous chat show host.(Toby).
So is John a guest on the show?
Is it a 'Surprise Surprise' or 'This is your life' type of thing?
So that would explain everyone being there, John being a bit cross and the 'what are you doing here?' thing.
Or of course it could all be a set up: a distraction, to try and entrap someone, a lure etc..
Yes I know my timings may be out again.
Interesting that they are filming them in order again this time.
The pathetic part of me hopes this is for a specific reason...in that Andrew is currently filming something else!

John doesn't seem to be the kind of guy that would join such a chat show? But perhaps Sherlock asked him to, for a case?
Offline
That's what I meant about him being cross, if he's being forced to do it...particularly if he is bait!

I'm not sure why they would be round at the chat show host's house, with Sherlock in a dressing gown, though. Not saying you're wrong, of course! Also, although the house is quite upmarket, perhaps not upmarket enough for a chat show host? And I got the impression that casting call meant that the chat show host was a minor part, not Toby Jones' part? (But I don't know how these things work).
Yes, the S1 scenes could be mind palace. But no baby here doesn't necessarily mean that the baby no longer exists. I suppose it's possible that she just doesn't feature in the episode, or that her scenes were filmed in advance (with babies developing so quickly, they might have to time things round the baby for contininuity, or because they don't want the baby to have too long on set).
And if it's a flashback to Mary's babyhood/childhood, the house isn't right if it wouldn't have been built when she was born.
Mrs Hudson's daughter ... that's an interesting one! Personally, I'm not a big fan of people turning out to be related to other people (Star Wars has a lot to answer for), but I think it's a popular idea. I can't help feeling there has to be more to be revealed about Mary. And interesting to have a rare sighting of Mrs Hudson away from Baker Street.

!. I have no problem with anybody saying I'm wrong about anything.(It does happen from time to time! Ha.)
2. Honestly just throwing out ideas here!
To be honest I did think a TV star would have a flasher pad...so more likely the Watsons home, or a safe house etc.
Ah right...shame about Toby, I quite fancied him being a villainous chat show host! So possibly he is a guest on the show?
I don't honestly think they will have Mary as a miniature Hudson...despite the obvious exceptions, I do think they try and keep canonical.

I was thinking Toby J could be more a Baron Gru type only older , maybe courting ladies like Mrs H .
Offline
Ooh, there's a thought...and then does he threaten Mrs H?!
Offline
Could be. I picture Baron Gruner as more obviously physically attractive, but no reason why he has to be.

If any member of John's family appears on the show, it'll be Harry or the cousin who was invited to his wedding (more likely Harry). For obvious reasons, his parents won't be showing up as Sherlock's did (they're most likely long-since dead).

Can you please explain?

There is a short video:
Look at the way Sherlock is walking. He is either ill or faking being ill. This is completely different from his usual walk. And people on set confirmed that he was swaying during some takes.
Very mysterious.
I lean towards the idea that the house in Miskin belongs to somebody from Mrs. Hudson´s family who died. Mrs. Hudson visits the house and is arrested for some bizarre reason.
Or the house belong to Harry Watson or John´s parents and John visits her with Sherlock accompanying him.
Sherlock walking into the ambulance on his own is most puzzling. Did John and Molly let him go because they know he is faking it? is Sherlock so unimportant or repulsive to them all of a sudden that they just don´t care? Is Sherlock so tough that he refused their help, walking alone even on the verge of death? Does he claim that he is highly contagious so they cannot touch him?
Why is Molly traipising around strange houses in her lab coat? She is a patologist, isn´t she? Did she have some work in that mysterious house? (Mary´s murder?)
John walking out of the house so long after Sherlock and Molly, alone, claiming that he "doesn´t care" is the most puzzling of all. Why is he just walking to the limousine?
