Re: The Hollow Crown: The Wars of the Roses (was "Richard III")

I think the gifs of that line, before the show aired, were from a BBC teaser/interview for it.

Clueing for looks.

Yeah, but I think the scene is in this weeks, isn't it?!

Rage!

I cannot live without brainwork. What else is there to live for? Stand at the window there. Was there ever such a dreary, dismal, unprofitable world? See how the yellow fog swirls down the street and drifts across the dun-coloured houses. What could be more hopelessly prosaic and material? What is the use of having powers, Doctor, when one has no field upon which to exert them?

He is so, so brilliant. Btw, this is something I wondered about as well. Why let Margaret live (from a Yorkist POV)?

Wow, hadn't the time so far to watch it, but... Benedict in those gifs... he really scares me in that role.

Re: The Hollow Crown: The Wars of the Roses (was "Richard III")

It is a possibility that true Richard III was quite a looker, although deformed by the scoliosis:

Re: The Hollow Crown: The Wars of the Roses (was "Richard III")

It seems it is, not that scoliosis makes you ugly by default... I don't hope (has it herself)

Of course not. That was my point, actually. We only know that historical Richard III had scoliosis, but that fact in itself doesn´t mean he was unattractive.

Re: The Hollow Crown: The Wars of the Roses (was "Richard III")

Yes, though the character in the play seems to think that part of him is ugly, and people at the time thought ugliness inside you was reflected in your physicality.
