Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

Very hot pic!

-----------------------------------

I cannot live without brainwork. What else is there to live for? Stand at the window there. Was there ever such a dreary, dismal, unprofitable world? See how the yellow fog swirls down the street and drifts across the dun-coloured houses. What could be more hopelessly prosaic and material? What is the use of having powers, Doctor, when one has no field upon which to exert them?

We watched a black and white movie from the 1930s the other day, an old production of "The Hound of the Baskervilles" starring Basil Rathbone as Sherlock, and he wore this same design of dressing gown--  a solid color with a line of stitching down each lapel just like this. I wonder if the BBC wardrobe people did this on purpose, or if it was happy accident.

Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

There are no such accidents, it's a nod to that movie, for sure. Because they take too much attention for such details for a coincidence.

Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

Here is 1939's Basil Rathbone in that dressing gown like our Sherlock's that I mentioned earlier. I agree, probably way too similar to be an accident.
