Yes, well, what can we say...? We thought that if we travel to London especially for him, then we should make the most of it. And the tickets for the matinee were only 10 pounds, so we just couldn't resist.
Here is one of the pics gently took, by the way:
Wonderful experience!

Oh my gosh, you lucky girls!!! I love Tennant too, but so cool to hear how awesome he is in general!

In the midst of all this tooth hell I forgot to share my good news!
I am unemployed, and the job center has been trying to help me get a job... they do that by sending people into unpaid placements for some weeks... they struggled to find me one for some reason. It really shouldn't have to be so hard to find a place that could use a secretary for free!
(Okay I also made the job harder by not having a car and not being able to afford transport to other towns)
They finally found something for me! The museum village at the outskirts of town has agreed to take me on for their project planning.
It's a lovely place really. It's a living museum where old retired people walk around dressed up in period clothes and keep different workshops operating.
According to the jobcenter lady the boss is a really nice older man...
The only problem is that it's unpaid... and I still have to pay for a short bus trip to get out there. My food budget is already on less than £60 per month.
But who knows? Maybe they like me... and no matter what I can add that to my resume too.

Good to hear, Phantom! (Also that your tooth is feeling better) But it's a shame they don't at least compensate for commuting costs.. I hope you have a great time and gain some valuable experiences!
My good news is that my lost bag returned to me thanks to an honest finder.. *relieved*

Woohoo!

Thank you, they do compensate commuting costs, but only for greater distances...
And I'm happy to hear you got your bag! Honest people do still exist! Phew!
When my wallet was stolen I got it sent to me in the mail from the police later... I still don't know how it was found, it didn't say. I guess the two men who stole it threw it away when they found no cash and I was quick to cancel my card. I think someone found it and handed it in to the police or something...

My dentist finished my treatment today; it was a very deep root canal filling... and despite the fact that I started crying because he had to do some stuff that hurt really bad without sedation because the root was bending... I'm really glad it's over. He told me that those minutes of pain saved me from even worse pain the next days because this way he could fill the entire root.
And... last night I had a breakdown (I realize this is the good news thread but I'm getting to it!)... I thought I would have to do some degrading things again to handle my economic situation the next months now they've lowered my benefits...
I try not to gamble too much, but I put £10 into an online casino towards the end of the night... and I won exactly what I need to survive next month!
And this morning, despite the hangover I managed to look at the papers again... they forgot to count my electric bill in their calculations of how much I need... so I called them and made them aware of their mistake, first the lady got defensive but I managed to make her see. When they recalculate that should also help the numbers a bit in my favour... just so I can actually pay my bills and maybe eat something that's not stale bread.

Sorry, another petty one from me...but sweet, I thought.
The school kids have been making peg dolls.
Once they were finished, they had to bring them to me and I was helping them complete their evaluation forms.
One little boy came running out and shouted: look Mrs Smith, I've dressed my doll as Sherlock Holmes...and so he had: Victorian cape, hat the works!

Aaaawh! How adorable! A mini Sherlockian in the works!

I saw my doctor today, I had hoped that maybe my chronic back and hip pain from scoliosis and a bulging disc could maybe help me get higher benefits, just a tiny bit... considering that it makes it so much harder to find and keep a job... the doctor couldn't help me much, and it turns out you need to be mentally ill to get that... and while I have some issues I'm not sick enough for that apparently...
But! The doctor has referred me to get rehabilitation, physio therapy, dietary advice and see someone to learn how to live with chronic pains.
My old doctor didn't really care, he wanted to refer me to physiotherapy which I can't afford, and he just stopped there... I tried going to physio-pilates which made me worse... so I've now gone since late 2013 which really bad pains, and I've been having trouble since I was a kid... and all that was done was fill me with pills.
I'm actually excited to get started there!
My back will only get worse, since I wasn't treated as a kid the curve will keep growing... that's the prognosis, and I have to admit that's tough knowledge to live with. But, with proper treatment and training of muscles it could be easier... and to get help to deal with it too would be awesome.
I just feel so relieved now. I've had a really tough weekend with my back and I was a bit hopeless.

Glad to hear that things are looking up on that front! I hope it helps you as much as is possible.

This is pretty boring news and it's probably pointless to post about it, but I'm not feeling so sad and down anymore. Now, obviously I'm not always happy and the world is not a green meadow with chirping birds and where the sun always shines (not that I'd want that anyway, but you get the metaphor, right?), but I don't feel so blah and uninterested. There's still some stress from school because that doesn't go away, but I feel better and less negative about it. I guess it's sort of a comfortable, neutral feeling? I don't really know how to explain, but I'm feeling okay.

Good to read your news, Phantom and Yitzock. Sounds like small steps in the right direction for both of you.

That is really good to hear Yitzock. And I'm happy to hear you notice the change too. That's very good signs!
Take good care of yourself!

Oh, Yitzock, that is good news indeed!
Phantom, I am glad to hear that the treatment for your tooth's over, that you're on the right path to feeling better, and even more so to hear that you've a job, albeit unpaid. Like you said, anything to put on your resume. More experience is better than none, I suppose.

It seems I might sleep a little easier tonight... (Really hope you get some too Lily)
I just got my benefits notice... they still haven't corrected the mistake... but it seems they raised the benefits marginally, and apparently my taxes have changed too... Where I thought I would be £50 short of what I usually get, and barely got by with, I am now just £6 off that... and they still haven't corrected their mistake.
I am quite baffled. And so relieved! And, it seems I'm being forced to get my tiny pension I've saved up over a year working at the hospital... Not sure when I get that, but well... It would be wiser to save it for old age, but I could use it now.
With this massive weight off my back I almost feel like I can fly!

Glad it worked out like that

Glad to hear that, Phantom!!
I am happy today because I finally received the results notification of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test I took in December.. I wanted to have this certificate since I knew it existed and never quite dared to take the test because it has a reputation of being overly difficult on the highest level I was aiming at.. But I passed with a pretty decent result, I still can't quite believe it! *happy dance*
