Sherlock's secret admiration/affection for Lestrade

John & Mary abandoned him in the graveyard to go off together.

Mycroft & Lestrade were the ones who helped, and more specifically Lestrade, who got down and dirty with him.

What can we deduce about Sherlock's heart?

Re: Sherlock's secret admiration/affection for Lestrade

He trusts Lestrade to always help him. But then we knew that: Lestrade is the only person who reacted to his return with open delight (and a hug!), and Sherlock didn't miss that--he suggested him to John as a best man, even.

Oh, dear.
"Got down and dirty with him"... My mind really is in the gutter.

But in all seriousness, I think it shows his attachment to Lestrade as well as Lestrade's attachment to him, of which he's aware.

Re: Sherlock's secret admiration/affection for Lestrade

I always thought Sherlock had an unspoken respect for Lestrade... even if he says things that sound very different.

I'll try not to comment on 'getting down and dirty'... *Coughs*

This episode really sparked a lot of ideas for Sherstrade! Yep!

Op .Lestrade and Mycroft belong at the graveside helping like friends and family, but when Sherlock goes deeper right into his very heart to discover what really burns it - it's John.
Instead of Moriarty burning them, it's a bit wet and Johns love kicks Moriartys ass.

Really? I didn't get it. Where?

I wasn't looking for it, so maybe that's why I didn't see it, but I would relly like to know where others detected something. Would you mind to explain?

Re: Sherlock's secret admiration/affection for Lestrade

On the other hand, Victorian Lestrade isn't quite so flattering,  It's affectionate, but Sherlock makes a point of him not being able to solve the case (although he does notice the note!).

Re: Sherlock's secret admiration/affection for Lestrade

Yeah I think the banter is there, but not the open affection we saw in TEH.
But then in Victorian Sherlock...I don't think they've known each other that long.

Oh, yes, to me it seems obvious that Sherlock "forgets" Lestrade's first name because he thinks it's hilarious.
