Re: Jeremy Brett Picture Thread

I cannot live without brainwork. What else is there to live for? Stand at the window there. Was there ever such a dreary, dismal, unprofitable world? See how the yellow fog swirls down the street and drifts across the dun-coloured houses. What could be more hopelessly prosaic and material? What is the use of having powers, Doctor, when one has no field upon which to exert them?

Thanks, I always love watching The Blue Carbucle every christmas time.

Re: Jeremy Brett Picture Thread

Yea, it´s a classic - and it has a very Christmasy feel in its finale.

Re: Jeremy Brett Picture Thread

Sidney Paget's drawings were often a visual template used for this series (especially in the early episodes). This black and picture from "A Scandal in Bohemia" is a clear example of this.

Re: Jeremy Brett Picture Thread

Yes, that´s one of the reasons why I love the series so much:

Re: Jeremy Brett Picture Thread

If you watched "The Abominable Bride" last night (which I loved btw). It also gives homage to the shot of Holmes and Watson on train, too.

Re: Jeremy Brett Picture Thread

Costumes and general look that Cumberbatch and Freeman had in it were very reminiscent of Brett and Burke (or Brett/ Hardwicke)

Re: Jeremy Brett Picture Thread

They were definitely modelled after them, I´d say.
