Apparently, BBC's earlier weather forecast was rather...interesting.

See how the yellow fog swirls down the street and drifts across the dun-coloured houses. What could be more hopelessly prosaic and material? What is the use of having powers, Doctor, when one has no field upon which to exert them?

@tonnaree, I think it means something along the lines of that we will be devastated by the special as well as the equally fast approaching NEXT hiatus. That's how I understood it anyway.
