Yeah, also saw that on tumblr.
But only recognise the Doctor, Sherlock, John and... Luther(?).
Edit: ... and Graham Norton.

He has dark eyes - maybe it´s an impostor?

What do we make of this?

I wonder why they still call it Christmas Special, the air date is New Years Day.

Hmm, don't understand it. He filmed something... NOW?

Well, it would either be a scene that didn't require the main cast (a pick-up of some sort), or it could be a special intro by Mark and this guy, perhaps?

Maybe they are giving us something like MHR last time? To prepare us for what is to come?
And, yes, it is silly to still call it a Christmas special.

Or they still had to film something like a frame to explain the Victorian times? He is an illusionist I understand? That would go for the setting as being something like the mind palace maybe?

Well, there is of course a parallel to using Derren Brown in TEH. But I cannot believe that they will make changes less than a month before the episode airs. I do not know about the technicalities but I would assume that by now everything is completely ready. They have to distribute copies/files or whatever to hundreds of cinemas, manufacture the DVDs and Blu-rays … Maybe they are doing a mini-episode again or a special trailer.

You're probably right. That sounds way more logical.

Maybe it's for the cinema extra stuff??

Yes, that is of course possible. So no hope for me to see it.

Or a BBC Intro?

It's all very exciting.

I don't care what it is, I want it.

Aw, the Christmas sprout thing was adorable. I watched it before I had read anything further about it or saw the gifs. I recognised Capaldi's voice straight away and was pleasantly surprised to see him appear in animated form, and then I was thrilled to see Sherlock and John. Followed by Graham Norton, Idris Elba... and isn't that woman from Eastenders or something? I don't know the others.
