Re: Johnlock Fic Recs *warning - adult content*

What a wonderful story. It inspired me to write a short fic of my own, to accompany the piece.

So... Sherlock and John stand in a shadow of an intimately lit Baker Street flat and Sherlock confesses to John:

SHERLOCK: I am fully aware of the danger my continuous presence in London poses to my loved ones... but I have not the heart to leave you just like that or to hurt you with some lie. I love you so I decided to ignore Moriarty´s threats. He is an insignificant and laughable threat anyway...

JOHN: Oh, Sherlock... how nice of you to do that... but you know, I´m not g...

LESTRADE: (enters the flat) Very romantic scene, you two. But enough of that! Sherlock Holmes, I´m arresting you for the abduction of the Bruhl children. You will also be charged with paedophilia and we also decided to accuse you of various others crimes in whose investigation you participated in the last three years or so. Officer, take him away!

OFFICER: (handcuffs Sherlock)

JOHN: Paedophilia? I lived with a paedophile all the time...??? Now I understand why he never dated any women...

SHERLOCK: John, that´s nonsense, I...

JOHN: Shut up, you filth! And don´t go near me!

LESTRADE: He is still here, officer? Escort him to the car, move!

SNIPER: (shoots)

ANDERSON: Oh, my God! Lestrade was just shot dead, right through the head! The horror, the horror!!

DONOVAN: (shouting at Sherlock) I bet it´s your work, you swine!

SHERLOCK: How could I shoot anybody, handcuffed and under arrest?

DONOVAN: You have your methods! Don´t deny your guilt!

JOHN: I so misjudged you! I can´t believe I lived with such human filth for more than a year. Here, greetings from me, you murderous scum! (hits Sherlock into stomach and then into his jaw, sending him sprawling onto the floor)

SNIPER: (shoots again)

ANDERSON: Oh, my GOD! Now it´s Doctor Watson, who was shot dead!

DONOVAN: Take cover!!!

SHERLOCK: (moaning painfully) John... John, I´m so sorry.... have I known that this would happen, I would never pull you right into this situation... I would leave you out of this completely... but I never believed Moriarty would go as far as to kill you...

DONOVAN: What??? You knew this would happen? You bastard! You may be innocent of the crimes we just charged you with, but you will always remain morally responsible for the death of those two! You should have acted before this happened and do something with it, Mr. Genius! Even fake your death, if it was necessary! But you decided to ignore it! I can´t tell you how disgusted I am with you!

SHERLOCK: (moans quietly)

The End.

Re: Johnlock Fic Recs *warning - adult content*

Joking aside - is there any fic worth recommending out there that doesn´t ignore the danger hovering above Sherlock´s loved ones from Moriarty and the fact that Sherlock would be arrested if he remained in London in TRF as a plot point?

Or doesn´t it exist at all because Sherlock-flaggelation is a norm that doesn´t tolerate any abberation?

Re: Johnlock Fic Recs *warning - adult content*

I am not quite sure what you are looking for. I have read lots of fics in which Sherlock is not a heartless baddie but someone who went out to save his friends. John feeling betrayed after the return is a normal human reaction but in the fics I prefer to read Sherlock is not being condemned.

Re: Johnlock Fic Recs *warning - adult content*

Nakahara: I think it is quite simple. Look for Post-Reichenfach fics written before series 3 aired. They got me over the hiatus and they practically all deal with a grieving John and a returning Sherlock who had a good explanation for what he did. There are lots of variations on the subject. One of the most beautiful is Ivyblossom's "The quiet man" which has a very good and believable Mary character as well.

http://archiveofourown.org/works/322978?view_full_work=true

I also do not think that Sherlock in general is blamed or castigated for what he did. There may be such opinions but I think I may be following the right blogs on tumblr to avoid those.

Honestly, together with this story, I encountered four or five meta dealing with John feeling betrayed and left alone by Sherlock etc., etc. today. I am a bit tired of the theme so I´m asking if anybody has seen some variation... the poor author of the original fic has nothing to do with me being a bit fed up with the theme itself.

Thank you, but what I had in mind is a fic that would introduce an idea that Sherlock doesn´t fake his death, doesn´t lie to John and remains such as he is (accused of heavy crimes and framed by the media) in London during TRF. What would be the consequences of this choice?

Is there any work toying with this idea?

I guess probably not... John and his suffering were heartbreaking and attractive for the writers more than this... still, it may be that somebody has seen or written such a thing?

Re: Johnlock Fic Recs *warning - adult content*

Might be more in line in what you were tired of than what you were looking for, but did you read that fake relationship thing I posted a little while back in this thread? I only ask since you mentioned you might wanna give it a go, and it deals with this exact issues and finally has the unspoken words spoken - from both of them.

Re: Johnlock Fic Recs *warning - adult content*

Nakahara, I cannot help you with what you mean but I can recommend the first fic our Schmiezi here ever wrote. It is very original since it has John knowing about Sherlock's plan and accompanying him on his mission:

I heard this one rec'd on TPP, and I just had to pass on the rec here. It's so hilarious and hot, I haven't even finished reading it but it's already one of my favourite AU's

Re: Johnlock Fic Recs *warning - adult content*

Finally got around to reading The Bang and the Clatter by earlgreytea.
I love baseball and I love earlgrey's writing but had avoided this one because I simply could not imagine Shelock as a baseball player.  Boy was I wrong!  EGT got it just perfect, both the world of baseball and the characters.  No matter what AU you put them in Shelock and John must remain Sherlock and John and in TBTC they are very true to form.  Just a delight to read from start to finish.

I know The Blog of Eugenia Watson has been rec'd before, but has anyone listed to the podfic by lunchee? She does a great job and it's so addictive. She really is brilliant as Genie!
