Re: Mary – the subject of discussion

I'm torn on this. On the one hand I'm unsatisfied because of those big holes in the Mary story. On the other hand she annoyed me enough that I just want to move on and don't want another episode circling around more Marydrama....

Re: Mary – the subject of discussion

Me too. That is why I hoped she would be killed of in the Special (before I knew it was a period thing), and that S4 would be set a few years later so that the main grief was over with. Just like they did with TRF/TEH.

Alas, that was not to happen.

Re: Mary – the subject of discussion

The sad thing for me is that I think Mary will not only survive s4, but be martyred in s5, and John will grieve, and Sherlock, as always, will be the one to blame. John will put Mary first and Sherlock a far,far second-- after all, he's a family man now, and it's now a family show- featuring John, Mary and baby, and we get to share in the excitement of nappies and first words and every so often Mary and John will team up with their illegal weapons against mean preschool teachers or nasty parents. And every once in awhile we'll laugh at Sherlock's inept attempts to babysit so Mary can assassinate someone who needs to be killed, with John as back-up.

At this point, I'd rather just let John and Mary have their married bliss and have Sherlock partner with Molly!

Sorry, please commence throwing mushy, old, fruit. I'll take my place in the stocks.

I'm not even sure if you are serious or not with that belief of the future, Raven. ;)

Re: Mary – the subject of discussion

Raven, I think you are grossly underestimating the writers.

Raven, naaah, from me you get biscuits for being so brave to voice my deepest fears
And Susi, they made someone shoot Sherlock and they made Mary pregnant and they made Moriarty appear on that screen... I find Ravens worries very accurate and honestly, I don't think they can pull nappies of. And when baby appears, nappies will be there, and all things will go awry. *runs*

Re: Mary – the subject of discussion

So you think they reduced the cast to tears with this fluff? Come on, this is not a sitcom.

Re: Mary – the subject of discussion

Part of that cast is a new father. Of course nappies would reduce him to tears.

Re: Mary – the subject of discussion

Well, I have faith in Moftiss, and I know they won't turn this into a family fluff sit-com.

Re: Mary – the subject of discussion

I have faith that John will be back at 221B without Mary or a baby.   I'm just not sure how they're going to get there.

Re: Mary – the subject of discussion

I definitely think that the cast 'cried' because Mary dies, and John loses the baby also somehow.

And I honestly can't wait (shhh don't tell Moffat!)

Biscuits! Oh, good-- they'll help with the nausea!
