I really couldn't agree more! Thank you for your review, Tinks!

I'm not really sure what this means:

Director of hamlet💀 Lyndsey Turner leaving & now off to direct something else. #standardarticle pic.twitter.com/ZbTE0CBCew ( )
I guess it's a long run and once the director is happy with how things are going, she doesn't need to stick around? So that's good I suppose

Yes, I think she stayed with the previews for possible changes and now everything is "perfect". But... I don't have a clue about a directors work so it's also just a guess.

I would agree that she stayed during the previews and for the first performances after the premiere. And now everything is 'said and done' and she fully handed over the productin to the actors. Seems totally normal to me.

I take it as a good sign, all is working perfectly so she isn't 'needed' anymore.

Yeah, I think that can happen with directors. They do most of their work before the show opens and when they're still in previews. Although I think it's more producers that do that usually, but I guess it can apply to directors as well.

Review of the play - four stars:

Is this the place where we can talk about Hamlet after we've seen it?? Or is there another thread for that?
Offline
I believe that was part of the intent with this thread... but we're not that many who has seen it yet...

lol "Hamlet virgin" is a funny turn of phrase tonnaree.
I'm a little surprised you didn't know anything about the play, though. A lot of people know something about Hamlet, and many people read it at some point during their time at school. But it is a good play and I'm glad you enjoyed it. Lucky that you get to see it again, because not a lot of people get to do that. I hope you enjoy it just as much, if not more, the next time around.

I have seen Hamlet play many times and read it a million times... I always have it in my purse...
And I think this was truly one of the best versions I have seen! I still can't get over the scene in Polonious'study (Ophelias father) I still spontaneously crack up about it!
