He is a really great singer/songwriter in my opinion. Just like The Beatles, his hit songs have been played so many times that even those who aren't fans of his are familar his music.
Everyone loves "Piano Man" but my favorite is "Scenes from an Italian Restaurant"

The only album I know is "An Innocent Man".
"The longest time" is my absolutely fave.

I love:
Piano Man, She's always a woman, Just the way you are, She's got a way, My life, New York state of mind, ..... and so on.
But I wouldn't call myself a fan.
I've never heard Scenes from an Italian Restaurant

I wouldn't say fan, but there are some great songs like Vienna (my favourite), Piano Man or Leningrad

Vienna is my favourite, too! Although I also like "New York State of Mind." To be honest, though, I haven't listened to a whole lot of his songs, so I can't say I'm a fan, just that I have enjoyed some of his music.

"Scenes from an Italian Restaurant" has one my favorite Billy Joel piano riffs - that little part before the "Brenda and Eddie" part.
"Angry Young Man" is another favorite of mine.
