That sounds very exhilerating, Whisky! I'm sure you'll never forget that.
Phantom, I can understand why that would surprise you, but it is a good thing that you didn't get upset. It sounds like you know him quite well to realize that he didn't actually mean exactly what it looked like he said. I'm sure he appreciates that.

Love storms but not at sea, or near trees, or in wide open spaces (too much of a target!)

I need a bit of advice I guess...
The official Danish production of Hairspray is looking for a girl to play Tracy. They are seeking a "Big, sweet, gorgeous, sharp and super talented girl aged 15-25"... That's me!
I have always loved acting and I have taken so many acting classes, I really, really want to try this! But the problem is... while I've been singing all my life it has been in my own room when no one else were home. So... no one has heard me sing. And I can't read sheet music.
Obviously there's also the issue with my bad back and hips... but I could take care of that with meds and proper stretching I hope.
But should I apply? They want me to sing on the audition tape, so I suppose if I sing terribly they will know already then. I just don't want to waste their time...
I haven't acted since my anxiety got too bad as a teen... (other than being in the background of a commercial last year) I have to admit I often 'perform' musical songs at home and recite things...

Hell yeah you should apply! There's no thinking about it -if you think about it, you'll cave out.
At the moment I'm repainting my mother's room...and struggling not to take a spray can and draw a smiley face.
Well, I suppose that with a blue paint, it's easier to resist. Still.

Of course, Phantom, try! What can happen? And please don't worry about wasting the time of other people. You'll make them enjoy themslves :-)! *thumbs up*

Yes, Phantom, give it a go! Finger crossed.

and tell us it went!

Thank you! I'll start rehearsing the song. Good Morning Baltimore... I've already got it on repeat.
The worst thing that could happen would be a no... and so what.
Deadline is September 20th so I have enough time to prepare!
Finally being a big girl has it's advantages.

You'll nail it!
Like you said, the worst that could happen would be them saying "no", but "so what?" indeed! At the very least, it'll tell you that can do it, face people for something you want
You have quite a time to prepare until 20th September !
Nice to see you're positive about it!

Give it a go, Phantom, you got nothing to lose!
This is turning out to be a great Sherlockian weekend. Me and a friend of mine (the one who got me into Sherlock and Ben to start with) will every now and then meet up for a few beers/drinks and have a Sherlock evening. We will then watch a selected episode of her favorite Sherlock (Jeremy Brett) and then something of my chosing (something related to BBC Sherlock, obviously).
Tomorrow we will watch Jeremy Brett's HoB, so today I'm reading the story. I always read the story she choose before watching the episode, seeing as Brett's version is very close to the book.
For my choice, we saw ASiP for the first evening, then we saw the pilot for the second. (We don't need to watch all BBC Sherlock in chronological order because she's already seen them all twice). For tomorrow we will watch ChiqueGeeks marvellous "Drunk reaction"-videos to S3 while sipping our own G&Ts.

That sounds like fun, Vhanja. I already really like the book The Hound of the Baskervilles, so I hope you are enjoying it too (if you haven't already read it before, in which case I hope you're enjoying it again).

I haven't read it before, and I am enjoying it more than I thought I would. ACD is really good at creating suspense at weaving complex narratives.

I hope you're having a good weekend Vhanja, that sounds like the perfect weekend!
My best friend (who I got Sherlocked) and I have talked for ages about having a Sherlock and/or a Benedict weekend since forever. I hope we get to do it soon!
Have fun!

It was a great evening! First we watched Jeremy Brett's HoB, then Many Happy Returns (which she hadn't seen before), the ChiqeueGeeks - and then we ended up watching Basil Rathbone's HoB. All accompanied by G&T, whisky and beer. Great evening!

Glad you hear you had fun!

Not sure if this is a rant or chit-chat ...
I am working at a new school for a few days now, and I love that my collegues are dedicated. BUT this weekend received seven (!) mails from them, with work sheets they just did or organization stuff like the names of pupils in special classes or ideas for visiting the theatre in December. AT THE WEEKEND!
I kindly ignored them and will answer them this morning.

Great to hear you had a fun time Vhanja! Hope you didn't get a sore head!
Ugh, they should close down work email services during the weekends and evenings. Some people never take time off huh, good on you for managing to ignore it until today!

I agree, Vhanja, you were quite right to ignore them!
I went to St. Bart's...I'm grieving again (never really stopped, though) and I'm getting better the only way I know how : with a cup of strong black tea.

I thought about going to St. Barts on my trip... but I couldn't.

I think that between your foot and the emotional scarring of the experience it would have been hard on you...
I'm on my fifth cup of tea, it's been over two hours and I'm not over it.
