I hope it lasts as long as possible!! ... but due to my health I would like to know this...

EDIT: Sorry I just found it myself... 3 hours with a 20 minute intival... holy crepe.

There will certainly be a break, maybe even two. Don't get too nervous :-)!

Is it real?

EDIT: Forget it.  Right head but wrong body.

This is the real thing: Rory Kinnear as Hamlet.

I have to say though that I probably would have liked that look very much.

Re: Hamlet at the Barbican - contains spoilers about the production

A positive review in the Telegraph this morning, and lots of spoiler pictures (and a 5 star review) in the Daily Mail

Not to sound too arrogant but I expect 100% positive reviews. It's Benedict Cumberbatch we are talking about.

In the interval someone tweeted about a confetti cannon, should I be worried?!

Giddy as a school girl this monring with all the news.  Very excited to finally hear about stageing and costumes.  I like that they are mixing things up.  Shakespeare's works are so open to experimentation.

And I must say, in this one photo, Benedict's tight white fencing jacket accents certain areas of his anatomy quite fetchingingly.         Or to put it more simply,  that ass.

Yes, tonnaree, and super annoying to read about some "press" breaking the etiquettes as not to report about a first preview in all depths and getting snobby about the theatre goers...

Yes that makes me angry too. They mainly talk about how obsessed and silly the fans are. God I knew when I first heard the word Cumberbitches, when I was watching Ben on Chatty Man 3 years ago, it would be generalised.

I know, but I worried a little that he might be criticised just because he's Benedict Cumberbatch (that it might be fashionable to criticise him, and the Daily Mail can sometimes be a bit catty).  I did come across a negative review, but didn't read it.

Re: Hamlet at the Barbican - contains spoilers about the production

Well, for pretty much anything (even if it's fantastic), there's always someone who has something negative to say.  It's pretty much impossible that everyone will like it, that every critic will like it.  It can just as easily go the other way, there's always someone who likes something that's very bad.

Clueing for looks.

Re: Hamlet at the Barbican - contains spoilers about the production

Don´t be concerned about the things written in what is practically a tabloid. They simply have to make a cheap sensation of everything they write of.

What is the use of having powers, Doctor, when one has no field upon which to exert them?

Re: Hamlet at the Barbican - contains spoilers about the production

I seem to disagree with most Daily Mail opinions, so wouldn't have been surprised at a negative review (in fact it was the opposite)!.   The negative review was actually in The Times (but they've been criticised for it too).  I didn't even think it was worth mentioning, except that it seemed to be unexpected.   I'm happy to wait and see for myself - I will be incredibly surprised if I don't love it.

I too intend to at least see the screened version - no matter about the negative or positive reviews.
