My geeky friend kept talking to me about this awesome Enligsh guy with a voice that could melt you into a puddle. She said he was in Sherlock and showed me scenes from Star Trek. I went "meh" and didn't really care. She always have some English guy with a velvet voice she has a crush on.
But then one night I was home alone, hubby was at work and I flipped through Netflix to see if I could find anything to watch. Sherlock was there. And I thought - well, I like Martin Freeman. And I like the character Sherlock Holmes. So why not give it try? Got nothing else to do.
And the rest, as they say, is history. I keep telling me friend that she has created a monster. She just grins proudly in reply.

Tonight I was playing Witcher 3. I walk through a village, and a boy is running around singing "It's raining, it's pouring. The Emperor is boring".
My heart skipped several beats immediately!

You know you're obsessed with Sherlock when you develop a psychosomatic limp if you don't watch at least one episode a week

Also, earlier this week my husband was complaining about the kids using our bed as a trampoline, asking them why they kept jumping on it when we tell them not to, and I said "Because that's what children DO!" and my 8-year-old laughed because she got the reference.

Oh, they can't start too early...
My oldest admitted two days ago that she ships Johnlock.... She's 14!

My 18 year old nephew told me that he ships Johnlock and reads Johnlock fanfics! I sent him a few recs.

That's what I call scientific proof: suitable for every age and each gender.

Yup.
And he's not even (as far as I know) gay.

I love it when Sherlock is just shooting at the wall and he says, "BORED!" then when he and John get into an arguement, and John leaves, Sherlock bothers to ask him where he is going. Having read the original stories, Sherlock actually cares about John but he just dosen't know how to show it. Also after the pool part, when Moriarty leaves, Sherlock rips the bombs off and asks John if he is ok. He really does care. He is not as heartless as everyone believes.

Sitting in the tram, eyes closed because you are tired... hearing the sound of an incoming text... a sound exactly like the one Sherlock's mobile does...
Yes, I think I'm a bit obsessed.

Btw, I'm not talking about Irene Adler's influence on Sherlock's mobile.

Those kids have been spoilt (in a good way), ukaunz =)
Here I am, after realising that my brother, if he continues being careless about his relationships might just get his heart broken.
I've been considering writing him a letter (talk about feelings? Are you insane? We don't DO that.) to tell him just that.
Then I realised it was a very Mycroft thing to think...
-Note: He is 11 and got into one that was just "too much" as in constantly in each other's presence maybe not 24/7 but...WAY too much.
-Additional note : he's my step brother, lives with his Mum, some 500 kilometres away. Not the *only* reason for a letter, though.

My husband started watching Justified recently, and I was sitting next to him I bed reading, not consciously listening, when I heard one of the characters say "You take one more step and I'm gonna shoot you". It's like a little bell jingled in my brain. Yeah, you're not the only obsessed one, gently

You know you're obsessed with Sherlock when you get excited by a page like this in the book you're reading:
The book is Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch, and the audiobook version is read by Kobna Holdbrook-Smith (who performed that scene from Rosencrantz and Gildenstern Are Dead with Benedict, and will be appearing as Laertes in Hamlet). It's rather good so far, and I keep wanting to picture Benedict as the character Inspector Thomas Nightingale.

I finally got to watch Sleepy Hollow last night (better late than never!)
And I got so distracted from thinking how much Johnny Depp's character reminded me of Sherlock.
And the party I was at this weekend... I have always disliked being around stupid people... but I really noticed how I couldn't even have a conversation with them. All my 'party tricks' involve knowledge and facts and those 16 year olds would have no idea.
There were several times I replayed scenes from ASiP in my head "Yes, thank you for your input..." and "Don't talk out loud, you lower the IQ of the whole street".
And when one of the girls, the one who got way too drunk sat next to me and said "You're really silent" I had to bite my tongue.
Bonus info, I was wearing black and had wrapped my long blue scarf around my neck.
