Ukaunz, how lovely to have you around!
Make yourself comfortable. My hubby does not really want to talk about those things as well, he sees something very emotional, but he is more heartbroken about the missing cases and suspense in S3. That is why we are gathered here.
The scene is from TRF, just before Sherlock and John go to the court for the Moriarty trial.

Thanks nakahara. It looks so much like Sherlock thought John was leaning in for a kiss, and then John turns away just as Sherlock... but I'm sure I don't need to explain that to anyone here
I'm going to have to watch the whole series again with my Johnlock magnifying glass ready

So I've still got lots of reading to do, but I was just wondering... Do Johnlockers generally believe that BC and MF are in on the conspiracy to hide the JL endgame? I.e. were the two main actors told from the start, or have they been kept in the dark the way AA was about Mary being an assassin when she first started the show? Sorry if this is a silly question

Welcome to the dark side ukaunz, we have biscuits.
Also, you are now invited to join the OSAJ. Naked dancing optional.
That's not a silly question at all. In fact some of us think that the reason Ben often gives strange or contradictory answers about Sherlock's charater is because he knows the turth and is awful at lying.
I think they must've had some idea from the start. It's the only thing that would explain some of their acting choices.

Not silly at all. For one thing Martin once called "Sherlock" "the gayest show in the history of television". This was after series 1, if I am not mistaken.
And if you look at the way Benedict keeps talking about his character - shallow, constantly repeating the same old clichés that have been disproven by his own acting - I think there might be something fishy. There is a big disparity between how he plays Sherlock and the way he talks about him. I mean, he even went into more depth about Smaug.

I like your answers tonnaree and Susi! Anyway, back I go to deducingbbcsherlock.tumblr...

Yes, that is an entertaining blog for sure.
I will probably get chased away with planks for this, but I'm not sure about a conspiracy. Could be that I'm not fully informed about it but just a couple of thoughts:
I am a Johnlocker as I see Sherlock and John interacting on screen, but I'm just not sure - if there is some romantic story apart from the obligatory Watson wedding - if there's something planned from the beginning.
I see something really sparkling between those two leads and feel, that every other pairing in the show is much weaker. And that is for me the big, big, big gift that the Mofftiss have found. Susi mentioned what Martin said after the first season. I think everybody was flattered by the success and that Ben and Martin got super hot over night. I'm not sure if their attitudes haven't changed for reasons I won't dwell upon, it's a bit of a tricky territory as it involves the actors private lives and I want to be very careful with that.
And last not least, I'm also not sure if anybody involved in the show knows more about Johnlock than that there are some frenzy guys who can get really very explicit or also cross borders between show and real life.
Sorry for the waffling...

I think the writers know quite a lot that is going on. As does BBC Three.
I think we do not have to call it a conspiracy, this is just one way of calling it. For me it is a narrative development that has been there from the very beginning, something they could have stopped doing at any time (I mean, we do have a heterosexual wedding after all) and instead they stepped on the Johnlock gas in that very episode.
And please correct me if I am mistaken but we get exactly two happy relationships in the show: the gay couple from HoB and Sherlock's parents who look like - you get my meaning.
Just wondering if this something for the debate instead of the guide ...

As a new johnlocker, unkauz did have a valid question, but we are now a bit off topic. We could take the question over to the debate thread and continue or just resume regular scheduled activities here.
TOPIC!
Johnlcock is real and wonderful and we can prove it!

"Johnlcock", eh? As in John <3 cock...? (oof, that's a tad dirty...)
I assume that's a slip of the tongue.
(my, that's even worse. Down, girl!)

Yes, a narrative development is most definitely there, otherwise a lot especially in S3 doesn't make sense or is simply unsatisfactory.
No, what I meant is, do they know that there exist friendly and quite peaceful shippers, who are fully aware of the difference between show and real life? Like us?

Ugh, cross posted with you, mods. Alright, alright, I will restrain myself from further waffling around here...
