See how the yellow fog swirls down the street and drifts across the dun-coloured houses. What could be more hopelessly prosaic and material? What is the use of having powers, Doctor, when one has no field upon which to exert them?

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

I stalked a bit at the Sherlocked thread and love all those little details that come through
But I will use my #2181 to say this:
I'm sick and tired of this "he's evil and cannot be trusted" image everybody keeps conveying, have they watched S3 themselves?
I'm happy that Ben keeps stressing how he adores working with Martin, for me those two guys are heart, brain, liver, kidney and marrow of this show.
I very much hope that his answer about living with a man means John will move back in, and quickly!
He never really understood what shipping means, he doesn't know a thing about some wonderful fanfics for example, with lots of feelings that gets everybody teary eyed, but it's okay for the moment, he's head over heels in love with his wife and his baby can be due any day.
So I am positive.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

I can only assume that this completely untrue image of Sherlock is meant to hide future developments. Which still means that they underestimate their fans, but there you are. They have basically been saying the same things about Sherlock since 2010 while at the same time going on about his character development.

And, yes, I am very happy that Benedict is so positive about the show in general and the work with Martin in particular.

Posted that in the Sherlocked con thread before I saw it here.  Gotta love that woman.

And here is a nice quote from Benedict, made today at Sherlock con:

“Uh, I don’t think Sherlock would be jealous of that.”

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

And now, after reading throught the latest threads on this forum, I miss Sherlock so much! I've only seen the entire show like five or six times, and last time I saw a Sherlock episode was a few days ago! Ages!

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

Ivyblossom is nice and her metas are a good read, but she is so deep in a "Saint John-camp", that she sometimes overlooks an important details. Reichenbach to her centers entirely around John´s hurt feelings and the fact, that Sherlock was protecting the life of three people (not just John!) somehow fails to register with her.

The fact is, Sherlock managed to save his friends and so his plan was not at all a failure - even if it has a disastrous side-consequence of John being hurt emotionally and Sherlock having to deal with his anger in S3.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

I think the stress lies more on the thought that the disastrous side effect is not only John's anger but having him lost completely into marriage and fatherhood. The question if that had happened, had he trusted John. And I very much agree with her that the Reichenbach trauma is not resolved at all, up to the sad tarmac scene.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

That´s true but I think Sherlock would rather loose him to fatherhood and family than loose him to sniper´s bullet.

Just as a loss of his own life is preferable to Sherlock over the destruction of John´s family at the hands of a blackmailer in HLV.

Both things, personally painful for him, ensure John´s safety and therefore are successes.

Wonderfully put, nakahara. And very platonic

Yes, more platonic than Plato itself.
