Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

Exactly. And what could be more scientific than tyre levers and clarinets?

Susi, I had just successfully deleted that tyre lever from my mind palace... Thing is, I always must picture things quite vividly....

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

Really interesting. And I really hope that we will learn something about John' family apart from what we know about Harry. His family has been is a very big black hole so far. We did not even meet the cousing who hates Mary.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

Clarients and tyre levers.  So what we are trying to say is that John is very skilled at handling long hard objects.  With either his hands or his mouth.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

@Susies link - Interesting thoughts on Johns family there..for other rather convoluted reasons I think Stella and Ted are Johns aunt and uncle..parents of the Mary hating cousin..and maybe Ted was the military man and perhaps a father figure to John...that Ted has a problem with his leg...could well connect@ Johns psychosomatic limp.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

It was mrshouse's link.
But you are right, lil, the parallel with the leg is interesting. Stella and Ted are the only ones mentioned in the telegrams we do not know from the show. And there is John's blog in which Stella and Ted appear as well:

DARLING!!!!!!! The photos look amazing and your wife looks amazing!! Big hugs to you both!!! Sorry again we couldn't be there but Ted's leg was doing that thing again and we just couldn't make it and I wish we had because it looks like such a wonderful beautiful heart-breaking celebration of absolute love!! Big hugs to you both!! Big squishy hugs!!!! Xxxxxxxxxxxx

Stella and Ted 12 August

So they seem to be definitely from John's side.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

Here's a meta that talks about the possibility that Stella & Ted is Jim trolling around on Johns blog ;)

Quite telling, thanks!    It reminds me much of M-Theory and add to in there perfectly.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

Hm................
What has it to do with Johnlock?
And where did the author find the lines about John's dead mum when John was talking to Sherlock in the kitchen? Was it a deleted scene from the script?
Also I don't think it makes much sense to mix the show and John's blog too seriously as the blog is not exactly from the writers of the show if I remember right?

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

You are right, Mattlocked, the connection to Johnlock is not necessarily given. However, it's quite Jim's style, isn't it? and there are more signs of a character speaking like that on the blog. M-theory discussed these broadly.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

The deleted scene is from the script and included in the Sherlock Chronicles.

The blog has been written by Joe Lidster, not the writers themselves, but as far as I know everything has to be approved by the BBC and possibly the creators of the show as well. So I suppose there is nothing in there that would contradict what we get in the episodes.

Interesting idea about Stella and Ted being Jim. It would be in accordance with M-theory which in turn is closely associated with Johnlock.

But we can open a new thread anytime because it is quite an interesting subject.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

True. But then we would have to discount the whole Pilot as well.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

The connection to Johnlock lies in the assumption that - if it's indeed Jim writing - Sherlock's falling for John and destroying this is the final problem between Jim and Sherlock. But I have troubles with this meta as well. It builds solemnly on the writing style. And Sherlock's confusion when reading out loud the telegraph. I would rather say this awkwardness is related to the whole "Sherlock learns to deal with emotions"- topic that is so strong throughout S3.
