What reasons could there be for abandoning Sherlock's curls?

An amount of still growing bills from the hair stylist.
Becoming the reincarnation of Jeremy Brett
Cumberbatch got on his knees and begged for mercy. Twice.
Donovan found each crime scene compromised by black hair.
Extremely clogged shower drain in 221b.
Fandom gets bored of them (will never happen, though).
Going straight.
Have some more fangirling about Martin's 50 shades of grey for balance reasons.
I don't know, honestly ...
Just an accident with a sneezing hair dresser.
