I have no problem with Sherlock /Benedict with short hair, he looks with short hair very smart as well (well, i like him better with Sherlock hair, but his short one is great as well). But what the hell they did with Martin? How can they choose such an unflattering haircut, hut and clothes? He looks 15 years older as in SNL. Did they fired the team from the series 1 and 2?
On the positive side Amanda and Louise look amazing in their victorian clothes.

I think Martin's looks may be due to hairstyle and costume. Although I read from someone who saw him up close and who said that he looked astonishingly old. No idea if this is true, due to make-up or whatever.

I agree, I could go without curls as long as the rest is great.
But Loo? Where is that pic? Did that slip my attention??

Yes I've missed Loo, too.
I think every pic of Martin I've seen, he's just looked totallypissed off at being photographed when he's on set..

Or he is pissed about the mustache . Really, the mustache and the haircut are the mainly reason why he looks so old. And the coat add him also 5 years . Not even in Fargo episode 1 does he looks so unflatttering, what the heck!
Loo was in some pics on twitter:

Is it just me, or do Ben and Martin look a hell of a lot like Jeremy Brett and David Burke in those outfits? I mean...damn
Very old school, I like it ^^

It's NOT just you.
.....and they both look fabulous.
The period costume and facial hair do make Martin look a bit older but he still looks good. Perfect for the era.

I like them all in period costumes. And the locations are awesome as well. Gloucester Cathedral, Bath, the cemetery …

This is all so exciting!

Ooooh, liking Molly's long dress!

I'd like to point out that the majority of setlock photographs come from "official" sources, ie. press and paparazzi. If it annoys the actors to be photographed then press should be banned from the set and escorted off. Same with the fans, tbh. There's ways and means to get rid of them, they just don't.

Yeah, sorry.
I had said earlier that all the photos are on Google.
I was just commenting on Martin...he is the only one who looks pissed off.
The rest of them look joyous.

Exciting qnd awesome pics...BC looking in his prime tho MF very aged again..being kind @ blaming the mustache.....makes the special seem not quite so long away...some news on S04 wld be the icing on the cake!
by the by....seeing the #shspesh so much today made we wonder if maybe Moffat and Gatiss are punning on ACDs ' The lost special ' short story with a kinda pastiche Holmes@Moriarty.....

I honestly do think it's the moustache and the outfit. He looks like a classic Watson, lol, and yeah, it does make him look older.

Can I make a confession?
I thought the ' SH' referred to keeping it quiet...
It was ages before I realised it stood for Sherlock Holmes!

Regarding Martin looking pissed off.
Sometimes I think he just looks like that!
What do they call it these days?
"Resting Bitch Face"

Well, Sue Vertue tweeted that it´s absolutely fine for fans to appear on the set if they won´t make inappropriate spoilers about the show. So I presume the Sherlock crew have no problem with this:
I also don´t think there´s anything wrong with Martin´s visage and moustache. Classical Victorian Dr. Watson. Did you expect him to look any different?
