Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

Yes, I also remember we had that discussion, but can't remember exactly where it was, too. Oh, the aging process.....
Anyway, if I'm not mistaken, one of the British users said, in the UK it would be common for groom and best man to dress alike.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

Hm, ok. It's not a tradition in Norway - the best man usually dresses in his regular suit, just like everbody else (sanse the groom). That's why I noticed.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

Yes, same in Germany, you have matching little details like a little flowery bouquet or something.
On a complete different matter: I read a couple of times that - considering tjlc- the story of the " Three garridebs" is highly considered to be filmed and bring the big change for the boys. It was yesterday that I read a meta about it. I reread it in canon but still am a bit oblivious as to why it should be this one? Any ideas?

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

In Canon it is the only story in which Holmes really expresses his feelings for Watson. Here is the famous quote:

"It was worth a wound — it was worth many wounds — to know the depth of loyalty and love which lay behind that cold mask. The clear, hard eyes were dimmed for a moment, and the firm lips were shaking. For the one and only time I caught a glimpse of a great heart as well as of a great brain. All my years of humble but single-minded service culminated in that moment of revelation."

People expect to see a similar moment in which John is hurt and Sherlock worries about him like hell. I think Moffat mentioned that when the moment comes it would make people cry.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

Ah, okay, I see. Yes, I stumbled across this well known quote, but actually I thought we already had a
couple of similar moments on screen, that's why it didn't really struck me as a big change.
And I also read this quote, but wasn't 100% sure it was genuinely by Moffat.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

I think we had a small moment in TEH after the bonfire but I really hope to get more. And preferably without Mary standing there.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

I don't usually cry during movies or TV-shows, but in that moment (and canon Johnlock ) i will gladly cry many tears of joy!

It is most definitely a Brit tradition that the groom and best man dress the same...

I already did that at the end of TRF, and I can't wait to do it again - only next time tears of joy.
I also think that we already took a first step in this direction in TEH and also in TSoT...

Definitely. I still don't know how people can think that TSoT is entirely a  comedy.

The end of TSoT breaks my heart. The most moving thing ever is Sherlock playing their walz, it's the most heartbreaking thing I can imagine.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

Hmm, I like this:

-----------------------------------

I cannot live without brainwork. What else is there to live for? Stand at the window there. Was there ever such a dreary, dismal, unprofitable world? See how the yellow fog swirls down the street and drifts across the dun-coloured houses. What could be more hopelessly prosaic and material? What is the use of having powers, Doctor, when one has no field upon which to exert them?

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

You would also sell the souls of your family members for getting Johnlock, I suppose.
