Sorry, I just watched it again. I am probably mixing it up with another instance around the time when he was holding something in front of his face and told reporters to photograph politically important things instead. But both happened shortly after each other.

So far everything I've seen is just quiting the original tabloid New York Post article.

Well I would say The Guardian is quite reliable
