Theme Park for BBC shows?

Say what?   http://www.theguardian.com/media/2014/dec/10/bbc-theme-park-sherlock-doctor-who-top-gear-hollywood

All rumors right now, of course, but apparently Paramount and BBC World will be building a theme park/holiday resort near Swanscombe, with promises to “combine the glamour of Hollywood with the best of British culture" like they do with other entertainment franchises in theme parks, by using their own popular shows.  Not a hard leap to think they'll include stuff that lends itself to rides/interactive stuff, like Sherlock, Top Gear, and Doctor Who (even though they already have the Doctor Who Experience, I wonder?).  This should be…. interesting.

I'm working my way up the greasy pole.  It's… very greasy.  And…  pole-shaped.

Re: Theme Park for BBC shows?

Paramount announced the theme park back in 2012. Don't think a theme park will exactly help the traffic congestion on the M25 and at the Dartford crossing much!

Hahahaha, that'd be a busy theme park.

They should make an interactive QI too then, that people can play and be surprised.

Ah, okay.  And yeah, I noticed several commenters on the location issue…  seem to be trying to stick it again near the 'hub' of things, instead of, say, further up north where less stuff like that is, for congestion and attracting visitors?  Still…  strange.

(ha… bad tonnaree!)

We should start an Attraction Wish List.

Personally I think a John Watson shooting gallery would be fun.

Re: Theme Park for BBC shows?

Yes!   (um… anyone have a transporter?  )
Admittedly, it still sounds a little 'odd' to think of a theme park for this kinda thing (although granted, it's for several bbc shows).  I like how one article commenter put it… 'Sherlock - a programme celebrating intelligence, wit, irony, subtlety - as a theme park experience? No thanks'.  Yeah… sounds like cashing in to me, rather than someplace like the Doctor Who Experience, for Sherlock, where get to browse everything related.  But regardless, all these ideas for rides and games is still hilariously fun… how about-

Death Frisbee Throw/Toss
Carousel of Hounds (instead of horses)
there should be a stone bridge connecting two areas, or at the entrance, with a 'Thor Bridge' sign.  ;)
a 'bumper car racing' area, and they all look like taxis
And of course the eateries would look like all the places the boys have stopped at.

Just as well they don't seem to frequent expensive restaurants...well, apart from the engagement one!

Re: Theme Park for BBC shows?

Haha, if I saw a Speedy's I would flip out.

Might I suggest a Whack-a-Moriarty game?
Little Moriarty heads popping out, but instead of a hammer I think a riding crop would be more appropriate.
