Here on the picture thread, we call that The Thing. As in, "Ben's doing The Thing again." He does love to rub his thigh, touch his mouth and face, etc, while he talks. A nervous habit, I presume.

I thought that the name "The Thing" only concerns Benedict rubbing his thigh. So him touching his lips or chest can be described in that manner too? Interesting to know.

Here  - some Sherlock without "The Thing" but attractive as Hell:

See how the yellow fog swirls down the street and drifts across the dun-coloured houses. What could be more hopelessly prosaic and material? What is the use of having powers, Doctor, when one has no field upon which to exert them?

Only according to me, but it works for me. And anyway, we haven't talked about The Thing for ages, not that I've seen anyway.

A slight off-shoot of Thinging is the Super-stealth Cumberbum Check.

Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

Oh, I´m sure Benedict is just checking if his purse was not stolen in all the conundrum around him. It´s all innocent.

Well, his bum is certainly not big. It's lean and mean, like the rest of him (in my imagination, anyway!)

Checking to see if his wallet is still there, to see if pickpockets have been at work. Sure, that must be it.

Meanwhile, the blond dude over on the right is totally smitten. lol
