You know, the Mofftiss want to confuse us.
They would not only use a time travel, but they change John into an American as well - just for s special, of course.

I cannot live without brainwork. What else is there to live for? Stand at the window there. Was there ever such a dreary, dismal, unprofitable world? See how the yellow fog swirls down the street and drifts across the dun-coloured houses. What could be more hopelessly prosaic and material? What is the use of having powers, Doctor, when one has no field upon which to exert them?

Wow, John would morph into a woman during the episode then!
Would be interesting to see...

Re: The special - the game is on (spoilers)

Joan Watson was the first Victorian woman to introduce this kind of fashion into England.

Or at least in Mofftiss universe it went like that....

That could mean anything or nothing. I like the beginning of blue carbuncle but the rest of the story ... mmm, looking for diamonds in the guts of chickens... iew.

I see Sherlock covered in feathers and John looking at him like "you've been doing what"?

Re: The special - the game is on (spoilers)

"The Yellow Face" is quite interesting as well - a married woman who is being blackmailed and has a mixed-race child from a previous marriage. I can see them using elements of this in the special - especially if you think of CAM's wedding telegram.

Yes. Mary immediately comes to mind. Especially considering that the woman from the original was American too.

Hilarious!

But I think that the goose from Victorian era must not necessarily be goose in our era - but maybe, I don´t know, Christmas pudding? One can hide a jewel inside one too. Or would it resemble "Poirot´s Christmas" too much? (Althrough Agatha Christie completely stole the idea from AC Doyle, IMHO.)
