Benedict's Engagement

Today, Benedict announced his engagement to Sophie Hunter via the Times (see links below), and I'm dismayed to see that some people are already freaking out.

Re: Benedict's Engagement

Yes, we already had that in the " talk lovely" thread. In the cosy world of this forum we are mostly happy for him.
I find the way they announced it in the Times somehow very endearing

And I'm glad about that. I saw some comments where people said they were stopping being a fan now. It did remind me of Take That breaking up- the drama!

Our forum is very lovely.

Re: Benedict's Engagement

They make a very beautiful pair together.

I´m so happy for them!

I cannot live without brainwork. What else is there to live for? Stand at the window there. Was there ever such a dreary, dismal, unprofitable world? See how the yellow fog swirls down the street and drifts across the dun-coloured houses. What could be more hopelessly prosaic and material? What is the use of having powers, Doctor, when one has no field upon which to exert them?

Re: Benedict's Engagement

But seriously! Whoever stops being a fan now was never truly in the first place!
And if that means Benedict has less madness in his life now, well, good for him!

Re: Benedict's Engagement

Whoever stops being a fan now is just plain stupid, if you ask me. Or indeed has been a fan for all the wrong reasons anyway.

Re: Benedict's Engagement

Exactly, Solar.
My hero since nearly 30 years is married for the second time and has 5 children. And I still AM a fan.
Will be the same with Benedict.
But 5 children ... could be exhausting, Benedict.

Let's hope the best for him (and Sophie).

Solar

@ mrshouse
I am a child of the 80s and the singer of 80s pop band Spandau Ballet, Tony Hadley, will always be my idol.
Benedict is a slightly new but very intensive passion.

Re: Benedict's Engagement

Wanda should rather throw rice instead, not confetti. Sophie is not exactly young for first babies anymore, they better hurry up!
