Oh, you can believe me that I've got very precise visuals of him and the others in my mind...Just as it happens when you're reading a novel. To me, Harry Potter doesn't look like Daniel Radcliffe at all, for example.

How can you listen to it and NOT have visuals of them in your mind? I mean, my mind does that automatically. Can you enjoy listening to a radio comedy without visuals inside your head?

Not at all! It's half the fun! Just think of (spoilers ahead!) Douglas and Arthur pushing that piano along the road, with Martin on top of it giving directions...

Re: The Imitation Game

Well I definitively prefer Benedict wearing a wig than Sherlock with short hair.

And last but not least, this has to do with imagination. When I listen to a song or read a book I also have visuals in my mind. How should this not happen?

Re: The Imitation Game

I've just realised that sometimes I picture the actors reading the script - so much for suspension of disbelief!    But I do have more imaginative visuals too.

I would rather have shorter hair than a wig.  They could write it into the script.  Maybe Sherlock had to have his head shaved for some reason.  Or went undercover.    The curls are iconic, though, so I'll forgive a wig if it's a very, very good one.

But they're still radio characters to me.

Re: The Imitation Game

Sherlock without curls wouldn't be Sherlock for me... nope...

Maybe they could do like they did with Doctor Who when Matt had to shave his head... they wrote that into the script. AND gave him a wig.

Re: The Imitation Game

What I do not understand is why he does not grow his hair. He is wearing a wig as Richard anyway so they could have put his hair underneath. Or the special is going to be really special.

Re: The Imitation Game

Grrrr, if he keeps cutting his hair I will kidnap his hairdresser and break all of her scissors!

I cannot live without brainwork. What else is there to live for? Stand at the window there. Was there ever such a dreary, dismal, unprofitable world? See how the yellow fog swirls down the street and drifts across the dun-coloured houses. What could be more hopelessly prosaic and material? What is the use of having powers, Doctor, when one has no field upon which to exert them?

Re: The Imitation Game

Now this really made me laugh when I just watched the press conference. Benedict saying: "I have played stupid people as well, I want to point that out. And if anyone's got some more stupid roles for me out there, I mean great, bring 'em on."

An interesting kind of crime. LOL

Yes, Solar, the part with the "stupid" roles made me laugh as well. But he has to confess his "genius" roles are a bigger part of his career.

Re: The Imitation Game

Yes, some of them my favourite actors.
You don't have to be bright to act.
I wanted to reply to Benedict: but you even play stupid people cleverly!
His intelligence just shines through, I could listen to him all day.
