I watched all the adaptations from the Granada series with the great Jeremy Brett numerous times on DVD. It ran from 1984 to 1994 where on ITV in the U.K. and on PBS here in the States (I know that my local PBS station still airs them) They were pretty much faithful to the original stories even though some liberties were occasionally taken. Here are my top ten from the series:
The Crooked Man
The Blue Carbuncle
The Copper Beeches
The Final Problem
The Empty House
The Second Stain
The Musgrave Ritual
The Devil’s Foot
The Sign of Four
The Master Blackmailer
Anyway do have any favorites from this series?

Me too. Because it's so funny.

I would also like to state that Eric Porter was superb as Professor Moriarty in that episode as his portrayal of the character was true to how he was in the original story. You could tell how menacing and evil he was just by looking at him.
However, this doesn’t take anything away from Andrew Scott whose own take on character is radically different but equally brilliant.
