Oh, and then I just found this Johnlock fanvid....
I will leave youtube now and go back to things which cheer me up.
Wow, this is a really beautiful, heartwrenching video and seeing the different scenes put together like this makes me almost believe that Johnlock is indeed endgame. I´m not entirely decided yet if I want to see Johnlock in the show and if there is a probable possibility that we actually will see Sherlock and John in a romantic, intimate relatioship in one of the coming seasons, but after watching this video I must admit it does seem to be a real option. All these longing glances, the devastating sadness, the terrbile loss and the true affection, I felt like witnessing their deep love for each in each gaze, in each gesture, in the timbre of each word and all they need is one small touch, one little physical contact to break down the walls between them and enter the next level of their relationship.

As we're talking about Mary (well you're talking, I'm just reading and mostly agreeing ) I just thought I'd sneak this one in here. Oh I can't wait to see how they will do it! And how will it affect John?

"I know how it happens...and, yes, it's going to be..." "blablablabla...."
Thanks for the interruption!

Yes, that was quite annoying!

Hm, we all know? Well according to the books, yes, but she never ever was a main character there anyway. I somehow have the feeling that this would be too big a spoiler to give away at this stage of production, I don't trust her
Too good to be true, as long as John won't yell at Sherlock and blame him for just anything.

Mary's actress is a wonder, though-- her tears seem genuine here. 'Course, we all know, she's got real chemistry with John's actor. heh
Erm, sorry, but I have to disagree there. I just don't get why it always says that because they are a real life couple they must have fantastic chemistry on screen. I saw very little of that. I can fully understand that the thought of casting her comes up but - and this is just my opinion- that they were not the best of matches. Maybe I would have less trouble with the figure if they had done a proper casting, I'm sure there a good actresses who can do great with Martin. Can couples only be played by real life couples when they both happen to be actors? I hope not. This is an example where the chemistry is BORING! And I feel betrayed that this is the loving couple when I see Benedict and Martin setting the screen on fire in comparison.
Whoa, Nellie, calm down there, girl.
All I said was, her tears looked genuine in that one scene. I hate when people cry on screen with great big fake crocodile tears, but you can tell they're not really crying. AA looked as if she were genuinely crying there in the Christmas scene; she was doing the "ugly cry", which to me is always the telltale sign that the tears are real. Good acting. And sorry, but she's MF's common law wife in RL, so... I imagine he's made her cry many times over the years, so she's had some practice. Just sayin'. Call it chemistry, or call it Ralph, if that works better for ya. The two of them do have an emotional connection, after all. And a professional one.
This is the wrong thread to be discussing this. I'm bowing out.

The showrunners don't even try to be subtle about it. Johnlock is glaringly a part of every scene they have together, and quite a few with just one of them! I doubt muchly that we'll ever see a sexual connection between them in the show, but you never know. And meanwhile, there's fan fic....

Huh? Bit confused there tbh. Did it feel like I was too worked up?? I most certainly was not. So actually no need to hush me down. And who is Nellie?
I hope that I am allowed to have my own opinion about things and to express them freely. And I focused it only on the show. For the records: this has nothing to do with Martin and Amanda in real life. They are one of the cutest celeb couples that I know of. May they have a lasting non-marriage till the end of their days and leave with a smile and hand in hand together.
But
this is about how their interaction came across on screen with regard to the Christmas scene. You said it worked for you and that's great. You're not alone there. I wish I had your faith, but for me the scene was just annoying. And all I'm saying is, that maybe with another actress the scene would have worked better for me. And, @ancientsgate, nothing I wrote was aimed directly at you, it was just that I already read in a couple of reviews " Oh they're a real life couple, they must be great on screen together." It is my personal opinion that they weren't. It doesn't matter if they made each other cry in real life and I hope very much not.
I agree with you that this is not the right thread for this.
And I certainly did not want to scare you away, would be happy if you reconsidered

This is still one of my all time favorites. It doesn't get much more 'phallic' than this. John enters lab; view of Sherlock with large, long object in hand pointed toward John, white viscous liquid dripping from the end. Subtext? WHAT SUBTEXT?
