Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

You were born in 1990? OMG, I feel old.

1990 would make him 13, so you're probably right. He looks a little younger than that, but he's always looked younger than his ages and the two boys next to him look to be about that.

Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

Well, my 'Big boss' told me that 24 was old... He told me about the days when he was young and worked as a young man at a hospital ward for elderly mentally ill patients and would pour water on the old nurses (who were 24)...

I don't know why, but I find this so cool that this might be Ben when I was born... such a silly thing.

Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

There was a time when 24 was definitely mature, if not old. Nowadays, people don't seem to grow up until their 30s, even 40s. When I was 24, I'd been living on my own for five years, done all my schooling, and was in a serious job with lots of responsibility. Most 24-year-olds I meet today are still living with their parents and out partying. I'm not saying that's the case for you, just that this is what I've encountered in my part of the world.

I regressed. I used to have a stodgy civil servant job as a security analyst (kind of like Mycroft at a genuinely low level) and now I blog and work on criminal investigations and have no schedule and haven't worn a suit in six years. My parents are a little dismayed.

Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

As a kid I was pretty much a grownup... now, at 24 I collect Hello Kitty... but to people my age I'm still boring... I do live on my own though and manage my own affairs somewhat. (other than being poor all of the time)

And to get back on topic... I've not seen this clip but OMG

Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

I'm dumping a few this time.

It's a gif. Does it count? I just love that smile

Screenshot from Third Star. Can't really tell it's him, but it was a beautiful shot.

Another screenshot from Third Star. My new official favourite movie.

Posing as himself in front of the Khan poster. See Martin, laughing in the reflection!

Hnnngh. That is all.

Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

The behinds the scenes stuff from ST:ID show that he had a blast filming it!

I love that picture of him posing in front of the poster. He's recreating the Khan pose perfectly, minus the coat billowing in the wind. The physical similarities between the two characters, including their wardrobe, really helps seal my head canon that part of Moriarty's web is in the future and that Sherlock went undercover as Khan to deal with it. And my head is still exploding from the day (pre-Benedict obsession) when I realised that, waitaminute, Sherlock is Khan?! Khan is Sherlock?!

As for Third Star, it's such a lovely movie! Benedict has the rare quality of being in touch with his emotions while still being 'manly.'

Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

I love STID/Sherlock crossovers. I live for those stories. In other STID subjects, I didn't see the movie in theatres because I wasn't really that into Star Trek, but then my family bought it on DVD and we sat down to movie night. Then the first shot of him when the Fleet Officer says, 'Who are you?' and I was up on my feet, pointing at the screen and gesticulating wildly. Had no idea he was in the film before that moment.

Third Star is just a gem of a film. It's a low-budget, little Welsh film so small it has a rating of NR, and it has stolen my heart. Some of my favourite parts are just the moments where you see pure happiness on his face as James, such as from the forest scene from above, when he was fanning the flames, and the overjoyed smile from the fireworks display.

I mean.

It's rather funny, he's got the Alan-hair and is talking about "Little Favour".

That's almost a bit too unreal for my taste - but I can see the fascination.
