I was posting in another thread and it just made me think of a possible argument for Johnlock: LeStrade/Sherlock is such a lovely perfect bromance that maybe we don't need another one (which means John/Sherlock has to be a romance!). No, I'm kidding.  I still haven't made my mind up .

What I meant when I said the I see things that I don't see. It's because I read metas about all the Johnlock thing. So when I come back at the scene, I'm like : " ok, I know now why you are saying that, I can see/imagine/understand what you mean. But I don't agree. I don't feel the Johnlock there."

I did some cinema courses. (It was a long time ago and it was an optional course. It was just the basics and cinema history, I do not claim to be an expert... I'm a scientist...) I know some of the basics of interpretation and analysis of the cinematography, images, plans... And I still don't agree with the johnlock moments people see or feel in that scene.

I would love to hear more about your interpretation of the cinematography, etc. I'd be interested to get another view on this.

I think I know what you mean about seeing things there.   I've tried reading some of the other stuff on the internet too, and while I can see some of the things there, I feel like there are things that are ambiguous that some of the writers won't allow to be ambiguous. It feels like they're being presented as fact.  It's complicated because (a) Sherlock and John do have a special relationship, and (b) love each other and (c) are an obvious, known "slash" couple, and a lot of the stuff could be just reflecting that rather than trying to show sexual attraction.

I will try to do an analysis episode by episode. But it will take some time...

Re: Johnlock: The Official Debate

There is something I have been wondering lately:
It is obvious that many people ship BBC's Sherlock and John, and I know that there have always been (some) people who ship(ped) canon Holmes and Watson.

Does anybody know if Granada's Holmes and Watson have been shipped too?

Re: Johnlock: The Official Debate

I do not know much about Granada Holmes and Watson but I have seen some things on tumblr where people ship them (although not as fervently as they do with Sherlock and John.)

Re: Johnlock: The Official Debate

I have a serious question for the non-johnlokcers.
Would any one here on the boards stop watching the show if Johnlock happened?

Yes. Hubby would.
Or at least he said so yesterday. But he has no idea that in a way it is happening already.
He isn't homophobic, he just doesn't like romance and stuff in tv shows and movies very much.

Re: Johnlock: The Official Debate

My boyfriend wouldn't - as long as it does make sense in the context of the show. He watched "Torchwood" with me, so there you go.

Re: Johnlock: The Official Debate

I don't really count as a non-Johnlocker (more of an undecided fence-sitter), but I'd definitely keep watching!

I have said all along I would be delighted...win-win situation.
How long would Johnlockers wait for it to happen?

Re: Johnlock: The Official Debate

I'll wait as long as it takes, because I'm not just watching the show waiting for Johnlock to happen (and the way I see it, to a certain degree it's already happening anyway). There is lots of other stuff in it that I hugely enjoy.

Re: Johnlock: The Official Debate

I would watch it till the very end of course. Should no Johnlock happen, never ever at all, I hope that the series' final is written in a way that still allows Johnlock to happen in fanfic.

Well, thinking about it, the only way to prevent that would be to kill off Sherlock and / or John.

Re: Johnlock: The Official Debate

Nooooooo, never.

(BTW I hate it when the final episode of a show I love ends terribly. It can ruin the entire show and make you never to watch any episode again for what good would it do if your fav character dies anyway? BUT it is way too early to think about the end. First, there is a story arch waiting for us in S4 and S5 ...)
