For everyone from Germany:
Yesterday I wrote an e-mail to the distributor of TIG in Germany and asked about a release date. The answer: There is no release date yet, and the film will most likely not be released in Germany before the beginning of next year.
God, I hate this...

Thank you and oh, no. This is ridiculous. I hope that maybe it will come sooner to Holland. I would drive over and watch it in English which is an additional incentive.

Everyone here ist behaving absolutely reasonable.
Another answer from the German distributor. They are still in the 'early stages of planning' and can't even tell when they might be able to announce a release date.

Sounds totally sane to me. If I am lucky I will be in London for two days in mid/late November so I hope I can see the film while I'm there (assuming it is still on at that time).

Must say at this point I am feeling very lucky that I only have to wait till November and that seeing it in my native language is not a problem.
Although if I had unlimited funds I would hope MJN air and meet you ladies in Holland.

TFE was released in the middle of October last year in the UK and in Germany in the end of the same month. Don't know why these things differ so much.
Well, the German date I spotted was hidden on the distributor's homepage. Maybe they really still are in consultation and this date isn't official.

The Hobbit and HP films were also released simultaneously. In spite of the dubbing so this is no argument.

VArious reasons come to mind. My two 'favourite' ones:
1.) Problems with the availability of the dubbing actors.
2.) Market value. In February we should be well in the middle of the Oscar buzz, I assume that the nominations will already be out by then. Maybe the distributor tries to be really clever and hopes for lots of nominations for TIG (like we all do ). That would most certainly mean that more people will go and see the movie than in, say, November.
