Not only was he fantastic and heartbreaking (the shaggy dog scene, OMG), he was perfect physically. I don't think there's any other actor out there today who has such a close resemblance to Van Gogh, what with the cheekbones and greenish eyes and the cupid's bow and the reddish hair.

Here are two stills where Ben seems to be posing for two of Van Gogh's most iconic self-portraits. That beard, those sad eyes... This movie is probably my favourite thing Ben has done, hands down. It's definitely the one I've watched the most.

I was thinking the exact same thing, he really looked like he had stepped out of a self portait!

And the one of him in the play... my mummy/nurse feels are strong with that one... I've already run to the kitchen to get a bowl of warm water and a soft cloth to dap his wound
