Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

Ah, I see. No idea. Would be quite a coincidence if they invented it.

Truer words were never spoken. I have never questioned why I can't watch the show without Johnlock looming large in my consciousness, because after all, the writers and actors intended it that way. As you say, SS, it's THERE.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

Just re-watched the mind palace scene with Moriarty in HLV. And there is such an obvious Johnlock proof that I am nearly afraid to post it here.

Moriarty, i.e. Sherlock, speaks of "pain", "heartbreak", "loss", "death" which all apply to himself. Pain and death can be explained by his injury, but heartbreak and loss can only be connected to John. What a heartbreaking bromance this is.

A more heartbreaking bromance was never seen. Indeed. Bromance. Can't be any other way. Bromance. Want me to spell it? B-R-O-M-A-N-C-E. B-R-O-M-A-N-C-E. B-R-O-O-O-O-O-O-M-A-N-C-E.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

It's definitely bromance and bromance only on-screen at the present time, but the possibilities of where they could take this in the future are endless. Or perhaps they won't take it anywhere and they'll just keep teasing us (and their Sherlock and John) with what-could-be indefinitely. Whatevs.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

I saw an example once...(speaking of bromance/gutlove) I think it was on Tumblr. The difference between "platonic frienship" and a "to-be-romance-friendship" and there was gifs of JD and Turk (Scrubs) and then John and Sherlock. The emotions and looks and yes everything is so so different!

Yeah...don't know exactlly where I'm going with this but for me it was good to have it in a split-pic, to prove how obvious (to me) Johns and Sherlocks love is, back when I was thinking if I just read to much into the whole thing

One reason I dislike the word is because there is no equivilent for female relationships.  Woman are allowed to have deep loving friendships and we don't need a special word for it.  I tihink it's a shame they had to invent a word just to make sure no one would mistake your deep friendship with another man as a "romance."

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

There is actually one thing that was not really clear to me up today: that both Johnlock-fans and Non-Johnlock-fans somehow feel it got all hot under the collar after S3. And there seems to be a cut-set which is actually convinced it could happen, the ones cringing, the others rejoicing.
But I have to agree that the non-Johnlockers seem to have not too many proof on their side.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

I think the reason for the Anti-Johnlockers is quite obvious - John's marriage. Which is really a sort of joke if you look at their relationship (and not just Mary's murderous past). Who knows if they had even included a marriage if it had not been canon? All the romantic tropes like the proposal and the declaration of love were between John and Sherlock, not John and Mary.
And what is more, Sherlock has never been so emotional. He admits he has a broken heart after all. What elso can we wish for (apart from the obvious)?

Many people were shocked when they heard about the wedding - and then we got the three, well two, most Johnlock-y episodes ever.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

Okay, just for the sake of science: I'm presenting to you two screencaps from "Torchwood".
Eye sex, no doubt about it (if you ask me).
Of course, we have seen eye sex between Sherlock and John that was a lot sexier (if you ask me).
But be that as it may: In both of those scenes, two seconds later... these two guys kiss. And they mean it. Just sayin'.

Excellent example, Solar. Having watched the scene I can agree with you.

Yes. Cross-references can be quite... interesting. And scientific, of course.

Thanks so much, dear. The fact that you approve of Captain Jack Harkness does only reassure me in my decision to... uhm... take a closer look.
