Brilliant and well stated!

I cannot live without brainwork. What else is there to live for? Stand at the window there. Was there ever such a dreary, dismal, unprofitable world? See how the yellow fog swirls down the street and drifts across the dun-coloured houses. What could be more hopelessly prosaic and material? What is the use of having powers, Doctor, when one has no field upon which to exert them?

Yes. No real arguments whatsoever. Could all have been taken from this very forum...

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

I posted this in the debate but I think it might belong here as well as this thread is not restricted to BBC Sherlock (as far as I know).

I found a very interesting thing on tumblr. There has been a series of radio adaptations of original stories by BBC Radio 4 using lots of the original text. Now this is a quote from their 2008 version of "The Red-Headed League":

“Mary, bless her, had rightly guessed where I had been, and with whom. Yet she made no more than to accuse me of marrying her under the false pretense that while all the world believed she held my heart, in reality it belonged to Holmes.”

I find quite interesting because it is not a quote from the story. These crucial lines have obviously been inserted by the adaptor Vincent McInerney. But there is more. At the end Holmes sends Watson home to his wife. The way he says Watson's name is heartbreaking.
It seems Mr McInerney is a Johnlocker.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

Johnlock in one form or another has been around since the original stories.
You figure there must be SOMETHING there.

Oh, come on...! I'm sure John knew exactly what he was talking about...!

John "Living in a closet" Watson? Not so sure about that. But Sherlock did.

Well, as long as one of them knows what's going on...

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

So much for working. Thud. I can see the product, especially in the TRF one.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

Yes, TRF is actually not so good, is it? Too much product or at least far too obvious. I like Scandal.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

I think my favourite is HLV. I generally like his series 3 hair best. In TSoT there is too much product as well. So it is TEH and HLV. Wonder what John thinks about this …

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

Actually I loved his hair in the unaired pilot. He looked so young and cutie there...
But as he has definitely matured during the years one might argue it wouldn't actually fit anymore.
But I thought John liked it, hehe...

Yes, his hair in TEH is very nice - you just don't get a very good look at it in that link. He probably knew that his hair should look stunning when he returns to John after two years...
