Who knows about Moriarty?
But I don't actually think either he or Sherlock are gay...they like playing The Game with each other, tho.

LOVE that song!
I don't really have a lot to add to the conversation right now. I just wanted to celebrate my 3000th post in the Sherlock's Sexuality thread.
*Sentiment*
I shall now dance the High Functioning Sociopath I'd Be Lost Without My Blogger Oh God Yes Dance of Joy.
Please remain seated during the performance. And no applause please, just throw money.

LOL and congrats. :-D

What would Moriarty do?

Oh. Those were your California ears. My just-north-of-Boston ears didn't even notice his spidah at the centah, lol. I was probably too busy eating my new england clam chowdah. lol

Have not read all posts, but:
I like to hold onto the idea that Sherlock really is a virgin, not because it has anything to do with innocence and purity, but because it seems true to the character.
Other than that, I'm fine with just about anything; nothing seems to far-fetched. He could be asexual, homosexual, heterosexual, bisexual, polysexual, or pansexual, and I could also accept him being genderqueer.
If he is sexually interested, I think he's either bi, poly, or pan, and I think he's very sapiosexual.

Wow, I've just learned so many new words.
(And I wish we would live in a world where you can be "sexually interested" or not, full stop, without the need to be labeled.)

Not - what? Sexually interested? Labelled?
Why wouldn't he be interested in one of the most crucial things in the world?
The fact that it isn't specifically pointed out doesn't mean his interest in sexuality doesn't exist at all.
Or do you think since we never see Sherlock brush his teeth he would never do it?

Not at all.
I don't know if Sherlock engages in sexual activity.
But if he does, I'm fairly certain he does so alone.

Poor him. I hope not.

Well why would the writer's hide a relationship from us?
We know about Mrs Hudson and her man at Speedy's.
We know about Harry's broken relationship,
We know about Molly's love life.
We know about both Greg and Philip on/off with their wives and also Philip on.off with Sally.
We now know John is married to Mary.
We know about the Holmes parents.
We don't really know about Mycroft, though he has indicated he hasn't found himself a goldfish.
Sherlock is not shown in a significant relationship, I take it he isn't.
And why is that a shame? This is presumably by choice and he may very well be perfectly happy that way.
Not everybody wants a relationship and I don't think anybody has made it clearer than Sherlock Holmes that he doesn't.
I think the writers like to have mystery at one end of their shows.

But of course it IS technichally possible to have sex without a relationship ...

But Sherlock isn't shown to have casual sex, if that's what you meant and I fail to see why this would be kept secret from us.
He could masturbate, with mags, on line or just use his imagination, I don't know and I'm not that interested.
Though I did have a theory about CAM's pronouncement on Sherlock's porn pref...maybe he uses pix of Irene.

I wonder if John has ever been shown to have sex. I think he hasn't, and yet there's a baby on its way.
Offline
We do at least see the mother and they are married.

And he is not angry when he learns about the baby, so he definitely had had sex with Mary.
My point exactly. He is not shown to have sex before TSOT (just think of him sleeping in Sarah's living room!), but he had. Obviously.

Yes, I think we're all fairly fully appraised of John's romantic history...and even more so of his current status.
Sherlock's status has remained constant through out.
I actually accept Moriarty's description of the Holmes boys.
I also believe Mycroft when he implies Sherlock is a virgin.
But I don't 100% know.
I am certain however, that since we first met Sherlock, he has not engaged in a sexual relationship with anybody else.
Despite what Benedict jokes about regarding Sherlock and Irene in Karachi( you know in one of the multiple interviews the Shelock team give), if they had 'linked up', I think it would take away the impact of Sherlock's look out of the rainy window...and the ' THE woman', thing.
