Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

I think it could go in the Games section, Susi...?

Anyway, let's have a look at how proud Sherlock really is of John:

Oh, this is beautiful. I love those moments when Sherlock is proud of John or impressed by his military BAMFness.

Ha ha, I have to think of "nurse".

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

Yes, brilliant scene. John going BAMF!, Sherlock impressed, John saving life, Sherlock as nurse. Quite telling, isn't it?

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

One of the things I really like about TSoT that for a change we see Sherlock impressed by John and praising him instead of the other way round. Of course I love John being in awe of Sherlock's deductions but here we finally see that this respect and admiration is mutual.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

Oh yes you are right. In TSoT it really is the other way around. Sherlock did some brilliant deductions but puts John in the front because he ... admires(?) him.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

We also see this in Baskerville, by the way, when John pulls rank and gets them into the facility. When everything is said and done, Sherlock looks at John for a second and it's clear that he's thinking something along the line of 'Oh wow, John...!'.

And then there's the thing about gay underwear... and no, I'm not only mentioning this here because they're talking about the Solar System.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

Yes, this is really funny. The underwear has not been deleted.

But something about this scene always makes me wonder (especially when thinking about Mary's pregnancy) - Sherlock sometimes does not manage to distinguish between truth and play-acting. Moriarty might be gay for all that we know but here he is playing a game with Sherlock. And he deduces exactly what Moriarty wants him to see.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

Very good point. I suppose if somebody knows exactly (more or less) what Sherlock will be looking for when he's deducing him/her and he/she is practically as clever as Sherlock... it might not be all that difficult to make him see what he/she wants him to see.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

Yes. And I do not really believe that the pregnancy is faked but the Jim from IT scene shows that he has a weak spot there. The things he deduced about her could all have been faked (at that point at least). For exampe John did not witness the wine tasting thing.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

I agree, it's probably not that difficult - at least not for a somewhat skilled and clever person like Mary - to fake a pregnancy in its early stages.

After this little excursion back to the subject on hand.

I wrote a little meta about the image of the "damsel in distress":

Just like, as we have often pointed out, Sherlock never denies anything when people assume he and John are a couple.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

You're saying it yourself in your meta, Susi: Sherlock doesn't deny it when CAM mentions it, because he knows CAM is right. And yes, Sherlock never denies anything (or does he...?) or even comments on anything when it comes to his relationship with John.

But later on, married to John, and presumably having sex with him or at least walking around semi-clothed around him, it would be impossible for her to continue to fake a pregnancy. Unless they're sleeping in separate bedrooms, and he literally never touches her, there's no way she could continue to fool him.

Huh. I never thought about a fake pregnancy. Sherlock deduced that she was a liar right from the get-go, and boy oh boy, that'd be a whopper!

We could tell ourselves that he never replies when people presume that Johnlock is a fact, simply because Sherlock himself knows it's true (that they're in a "thing", whether or not John knows it, lol). Or it could be that he simply thinks replying is a total waste of time, a waste of his valuable head space and daylight, and by not saying anything, he'll shut the commenter up more quickly, so they can just move on.
