In The Blind Banker he tells Molly that he never eats when he's working...which means we don't get to see him eat very often...
I've been thinking about that recently so today when I was watching one of the episodes and I spotted him eating, it really stood out, I was like "woah, Sherlock's eating!!"
So, a little quiz question...can anyone tell me what episode it was, and what he was eating?

In SIB, he ate a mince pie he nicked out of Mrs Hudson's fridge

Yep the mince pie from the fridge.
Benedict said it wasn't in the script but it seemed the natural thing to do so he did it. Gatiss said it was good, it showed how relaxed & close his relationship with Mrs Hudson was, so it gave a bit more depth to the characters.
Real reason, like any man they go back to childhood habits, raiding the fridge. he hehe

Yes! You got it!
Does anyone know if he eats at any other time? Can't remember any instances.

Well he does have a mostly eaten boiled egg and toast in front of him when he is reading the newspaper in Scandal, but he has finished eating it seems.

In 221B he eats a slice of toast by telling John: "For god's sake - the speckled blonde!"
That would be the second time I remember that Sherlock is eating.

That's right I remembered thinking what bad manners he had! lol

Aaah yes, I remember that now.
John on the other hand, eats a lot more often - although rarely gets chance to finish his food because Sherlock is always rushing him off doing things! I find that pretty funny - the way they're sat in restaurants & cafes and stuff, John's eating Sherlock isn't, then suddenly Sherlock just dashes off and John has to run after him abandoning his food. Poor John!

In Study in Pink he tells Mrs Hudson that he "might need something to eat" when he gets back, but that "something cold will do"!!

Must be "cold turkey" then...

Old thread - but can't resist posting . This thing about Sherlock eating.....consider poor Benedict Cumberbatch having to spout out an insane amount of rapid fire dialogue each and every episode - and you want him to put food in his mouth too? Impossible!

They did go for a Chinese at the end of ASIP (although we didn't see it on screen), presumably Sherlock was quite happy to eat then because the case was all finished! (He can predict the fortune cookies y'know. )

Does anybody even like the taste of fortune cookies?!
I just get them for the paper and bin the rest!

I love them! I always ask those eating with me, "are you going to eat your fortune cookie?" as I'm snatching it out of their hands.

The opposite of you Molly. I love eating the cookie and am not bothered about the fortune bit..

I'm with you, girl. Like eating cardboard with a touch of sugar on it. Ah but the wisdom of the messages! Clues, clues anyone?

In Series 3 I'd quite like to see Sherlock eating a chunk of bread! Canon SH seems to eat a lot of those...
