Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

What about some nice h/c turning into something else?

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

That would definitely be the best h/c conceivable. It would be so easy to make that work.

If it's built up in a logical and believable way and doesn't take center stage, definitely.

And now again for some serious scientific study. There are two songs playing in series 3 - "Donde estas, Yolanda?"

Where are you, where are you, Yolanda ?
What happened, What happened, Yolanda ?
I looked for you, I looked for you, Yolanda
and you're not there, you're not there, Yolanda. x2

Your eyes gazed at mine
your lips kissed mine
with desire and passion,
the passion of a woman.

The sparkle in your eye
the fire of your lips
conquered my heart and I fell in love with you.............

So we basically get a song in which a person is searching for a lost love and another one in which a person falls in love with someone whose name they do not know.

Re: the Yolanda thing-- interesting lyrics there, to say the least. Another example of the showrunners having us on, teasing us. The choice of that song was no accident, but I don't believe it was meant seriously--- it was meant to be tongue in cheek, I'm sure. Saying something tongue in cheek means that you intended it to be understood as a joke, even though you might appear to be serious.

One of the first "rules" for good H/C fan fic is to dish out the hurt and then the comfort in equal measures-- so that the comfort that is finally offered to the characters is in proportion to the amount of hurt you dragged them through in the first place. In the actual show, we get way more H than we do C, which I find very frustrating. I still cannot get over that airport scene at the end of 3.3, when John couldn't even *look* at Sherlock, and Sherlock stood there and wasted precious moments joking about how his name was a girl's name. I mean, seriously.... WTF was that?  I don't get it, why that was written or acted that way, either one. And the two-year wait for more answers is starting to feel like way too much H and not enough C, now that I think about it. Silly show.... so few episodes, and we're left hanging by our emotional fingernails for YEARS while they dither with us.  Sigh.

Yes, of course, that's definitely part of what C can constitute. We all luvs us some "something else."

Don't worry yourself about it, hunny; it'll never happen in this lifetime. TPTB are having too much fun playing with us, and they're super uber wicked afraid of driving away their male viewers, so IMO Johnlock will never be part of the show in any way except in fan fic. Lots of teasing bromance, but none of us will ever have to risk getting our virgin eyeballs seared by seeing any real physical anything between them.

That's what I think too. Just wanted to know if the other ladies are really keen on it.

Never, ever. I wish I lived in your world, but I don't. I have absolutely no faith that those writers will ever go there. They don't dare, they wouldn't know how to handle it right if they tried, and anyway (and probably most important, because after all, it's a business we're talking about here) the BBC likes the show just the way it is--  it's making them tons of money, and why would they ever allow anyone to risk upsetting that cash cow?  It'll *never* happen. Sorry, I realize I'm raining on parades this morning. Let's go read some fan fic, shall we?

You're an idiot. No, no, no, don't be like that, practically everyone is.

Fine, once again, for you:

Well, that's two different things you're talking about here. One thing is whether or not those writers would go there and how they would do it; the other thing is whether or not we would like to see it happen if it's handled the way I mentioned. And if it were handled the way I mentioned, yes, I would definitely want it. Because I actually have difficulties with seeing fanfic and the show itself as two completely different things. If I read (good) Johnlock fanfic or see (good) Johnlock fanart, all I can think is 'God, I wanna see this on the show.'
But you're probably right, we live in different worlds then.

Re: The comprehensive Johnlock guide (Johnlockers only)

I would totally support well done Johnlock on the show.  I don't know if it would ever happen but I would dance a little dance of joy if it did.

The airport scene. The airport scene.  Everyone hates the airport scene.

That scene broke my heart.  John can barely look at Sherlock because he knows if he just stops and looks in his eyes he'll lose it!  Look at Martin's face.  John is hanging by a thread!  And Sherlock, poor Sherlock.  You can see he has unshed tears in his eyes.  The weight of all he wants to say hangs in the air.  But neither man is to the point where they can just let it out.  Especially in front of Mycroft and Mary.

Yes, they hugged and spoke fondly of each other at the wedding but that was a very different situation.  It was a time and place were sentiment is not only accepted, it's expected.  And even then John has to jokinly ask Mary to not let him hug Sherlock.

At the airport they were scared and sad and lost.  And they were both stiff upper lipping for their lives.
To me this scene is all the more emotional because of how much is repressed.
